Camel Phat 3!!!
Re: whats on your typical bass channel?
a little EQ to get it to sit with the drums. if it wants to be dirty, then Sat. if it wants to be dirtier, then maybe redux. you don't need a lot if your bass sounds good to begin with

Re: whats on your typical bass channel?
Totally depends. Last tune I did it was just a simple sub side-chained to the kick. That is it.
Other times I am doing the 2/3 buses thing and applying different effect chains to each.
Surprised so many people use a bit crush vst. Was there a thread on here or something? I have never used a vst to do that. Sometimes I will reduce the bit rate with Ableton by Warping a bassline in audio up an octave or two, flatten and then pitch it back down.

Personal rule of thumb, put your time based fx at the end of the chain... reverb, delay, flange etc... unless going for a particular sound
But as others have said, different each n every....

Yeah like you say but echo then distortion and whatever can make some crazy unexpected cool sounds. You gotta use the holes on the side of your head. A good thing to do after you have this marathon of VST is start switching them off one by one, sometimes you might find taking an effect off make it sound better then you know to take that effect out of the chain or move it.ylem wrote:Personal rule of thumb, put your time based fx at the end of the chain... reverb, delay, flange etc... unless going for a particular sound
