Well with regards to the west being corruption free..

Generally, I'd say the UK is fairly corruption free at street level.

But Italy and Spain are pretty bad. Especially Italy.

Having traveled the world a fair amount and got my self out of a fair few scrapes, in my experience Vietnam and Malaysia were the worst for corruption. On every level, you can pay your way onto anything. I was really late for a flight in Hué, Vietnam. Paid 4,000,000 Dong (about £16) and the guy escorted me into the the waiting lounge the flight through some staff corridor, bypassing all the security etc. 4,000,000 is an average 3-5 day wage in Vietnam.

bribing police officers in germany won't work. the attempt will be labeled and charged as a felony as it will likely in many other "western" countries.
corruption runs rampant mostly in the upper echelons of this state i reckon.
anything below state level corruption is just referred to as doing a favor.
so, if I have a carpenter who's willing to fix my fucking whatever and he does it "off the record" and I give him a "donation" free of tax then I guess that is corruption on a personal level.
yet, it happens all the time and people would do it again, regardless.
the term corruption only seems relevant when applied in context with terms like "government" or "legislature".
maybe that's just inherent, programmed thinking on our part or wishful, ignorant bliss.
Corruption seems to be alive on all levels.

haha man, good on you ;)

yeah it can be a great place...it's pretty lenient when it comes to other countries.
and contrary to belief, most germans have a good sense of humour and aren't the uptight, grim fascists bastards we're always portrayed as.
well, of course you have those too, but I think it's the same everywhere with stereotypes.

Hmm, yes, the most obvious instance of which was once when a friend and I (I am a clean cut looking brown - asian- boy as was my friend) had literally JUST walked out of one of the exits of my high school. We were cutting, and we were about to go get high. I had $30s worth of weed in my pocket, not even stashed. As soon as we got out onto the sidewalk the truancy paddy wagon rolled up and the two white guys inside asked us for our IDs and where we were going. As I was scrambling to come up with some bullshit a group of black kids came out one of the other exits. Fucking pig didn't even finish what he was saying to us, just rolled right up to them and started fucking with them. I didn't stick around to see what happened, but that shit was fucked.

it's taking advantage of some laws.
I know someone who has a small company. Company's are allowed to ask to get money back for -in this case- parking for customers.
Now, this guy, doesn't really need parking for customers, it's not really necessary. But still: he placed a sign with parking on it on the driveway of his house.
He gets roughly about 250 euro a year of it :)

I buy my grade from a friend of mine who works for the police, It is much cheaper. £5 for 1.2
I would assume this to be corruption.

sure
which reminds me of a friend who (unjustly) went down big time for a shipment of hash
that was supposedly burnt
but it appeared on streets within weeks of impoundment.

true example of a false accusation to shift blame + police embezzlement
