joy orbison uses from shitty windows speakers and his productions sound pretty damn good. any thoughts on this? is it because he knows his audio theory and his songs go to get mastered im assuming.

Alesis 520's.

Cheap as chips. Loud enough for sensible monitoring. Bang for buck monitor I guess.

Genelec 1030a Pretty sweet tbh but i wouldn't reccomend them for dubstep, much better for producing acoustic instruments i feel, bass isn't wide enough!

KRK Rokit 5 + 10s Sub

I am considering upgrading, I can't tell if it's my monitors or my room (probably my room I fear) that have too much high-end, even if I roll off the frequencies which is making it difficult for me to get a good mix.

That said, for the price, you can't go wrong.
