I have Dynaudio Acoustics BM6P (these are nice for hearing what compressors are really doing to material
as they are a very punchy speaker and as soon as something's up with the punch when applying limiters, you hear it quick
and can make informative decisions)

And PMC IB1's as larger format mains, still learning these in my room but the extended bass is great and
they have plenty of midrange detail.

cheers
SafeandSound Mastering : PMC IB1S, MANLEY Massive Passive (Hardware), Summit Audio DCL-200, HCL Varis Vari Mu, Custom stereo linked 5 band mastering EQ.

I do the same. They are terrible monitors for making music on so I dont use them much. I get a better mix just using my in ear headphones and then listening on a couple of others pairs.
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

a pair of genelec 8020a and a 7050b sub, mostly used for djing though..
everytime I try to produce it ends up with tossing on a record rather then listening to my own poor productions :)

krk v4 series 2

ampeg ba115 bass combo amp (lol)

those shite $20 sony dj headphones

all in all, it's a pretty flexible system (especially since the ampeg is a loud fucking gig-worthy bass combo amp capable of much more than the average sub and is 15") but obviously not the best for production. 4" mains? lol. you'd be surprised how loud and good an image though, and they are kevlar rather than glass composite, prerequisites to the vxt line.

Behringer Lies. Have had them since like '03. They take a lickin' and keep on tickin'. Volume for days as well. Not the most accurate speaks tho  I am really going to make a serious effort to save at least a thousand and purchase a new set. Leaning towards Dynaudio or Adam's. Should set me up for years to come.

Got these ones to man, the mid range is quite poor i end up doing the final mixing on my ath headphones with a little bit of comparsion to these monitors cause the frequencies are really undefined.

I don't do well in cans, I have good ones but I end up putting the mix way out of whack when I use them. I usually just put them on to identify problems especially clashing that can sometimes be unnoticeable in the Truths. If you know them you can get by tho. Sometimes the muddy monitors can help you out like I tend to keep things simple and try to give each element some space anyway then when you hear the tune on something accurate everything is sure to pop out. On really accurate monitors you might end up working on details that will be totally lost on rigs and hi-fi systems anyway. Speaking of which they compare to average sound systems and hi-fi set ups so they can come in handy. I def plan on keeping these for a secondary reference when I get new ones. It isn't like I would get much resale from them anyway.

Ye you are right about that, ive been working with my cans only for the last week or so and my mixes are sounding pretty bad when played on different hi fis at home. Cant wait to get the toofs back so i can compare, my stamina for mixing on headphones on there own is pretty bad.

i always had the same impression, working on BM5a...
found them more transparent to make a decision on compression than the other monitors i've tested.

Logitech G51 5.1 Surround Sound speakers and my Sennheiser HD 215. I usually end up mixing my songs down on my headphones since I can hear problems with the song much more easily.
