I think he's good, but FAAAARRR from the best in the US. A lot of people praise him for how much he changes up what he's playing, honestly I fucking hate it. When I go see a DJ, I want to get into a groove, not dance for 2 minutes then stop because he rewound the track to start something else.

The first time I saw him I was blown away. The second time I saw him I was impressed. The third time I saw him I was disappointed. The fourth time I saw him I was downright disgusted.

seen this man spin 6 times and every time he tops the last. pure audiophile, last night he droped the pixies, a wu tang instramental, an mf doom verse, a missy elliot track, and countless other shit that i cant remember off the top. i get the feeling the UK aint feeling the bassnect, at least from what i can tell. but this mans live show is ridiculous, flawless mixes, unreal track selection, tempo changes, style changes, fucking dude mixes video.

I cant be the only one who feels this way.

no one can hold a candle to his live sets, period.

Can i get a witness???
sickest fucking musician i've ever seen, i know this thread is old, but i don't care...Lorin is the man. i really believe he is the best dj in the world. well depends on how you define dj, but as far as performer and musician...the BEST. you cannot not move at his shows. i'm sorry, but anyone who argues either has not seen the guy or was having the worst trip of their life when they were....props lorin

No. Joe Nice is the best dubstep dj in the US, hands down. Been down since day zero and his dubs are there to prove it. Sick skills in the mix, to boot. BN is a bandwagon jumper. "Breaks aint cuttin it at Burning Man anymore? Well, let's give dubstep a go..."

Well..used to love him, but he changed a lot since 2 years ago.

I tought "yeah, he's gonna make some Nectar-esque dubstep, could be awesome".

But he ended up making uninspiring, head-banging dubstep (production wise). As for his live sets...I tought I didn't like his Shamabhala set as much as the last year's one because I was too fucked on drugs. But when I talked to my friend who is/was a BN huge fan tell me that his Toronto set was realy dubstep-dubstep-dubstep (heavy, soul-less dubstep for the most), I understood that Lorin really went for the easy road.

Live sets aren't DJing imo, so you wouldn't be the best DJ. Maybe the best live set. Not that I look down on Live sets, I prefer them actually.
It's Dubstep, who cares?

exactly, well put sir.
The best DJ ive ever seen is RJD2. Dude played a 4 deck set along with the occasional drum machine solos, never used headphones. It was amazing
