Cubase SX3 & Oxygen 8v2 HELP!!!!

Post by dj tinman » Fri Dec 25, 2009 7:59 pm

Merry xmas steppers....

Jus got a couple of q's regarding my oxygen 8v2 and controlling parameters in Cubase.
Firstly I can't seem to get the transport controls working.
Secondly, whats the easiest/quickest way to assign parameters in any given vst? I know certain vst's have midi learn but whats the best procedure for others?
Is it a case of finding the CC number I want to control and then programming that into the oxygen 8v2 then assigning it to one of the controller knobs?

cheers

you have to setup a generic remote to use the transport controls

Go to Device Setup, and set up a "Generic Remote" using your Oxygen 8.

Then use the MIDI learn for all of the knobs and buttons in the above text box that has "Fader 1," "Knob 1" etc. You can rename these if you want.

To assign them to something, use the below text box...I've never assigned transport controls, but it should be fairly easy. For VST ones, you just select the VST and then the parameter, which can be easy or difficult depending on the plugin (the early version of Helix has 10,000 parameters, all with labels made from like 4 characters  ).

To make this easier, I assigned a keyboard shortcut to the device menu, so it feels a bit less cumbersome when you want to automate something a little more quickly.

Hope this helps.
