Scotland - what is going on up there?

Post by drokkr » Sun Dec 27, 2009 10:26 pm

Is it the Ironbru or what? :D

Seriously, to my ears some of the most exciting music in the world is coming from there recently. There has always been a strong electronic scene in Scotland but things are sounding amazing from the new breed of producers at the moment...

Loops Haunt
Rudi Zygadlo
Offshore
Architeq
Rustie
Hudson Mohawke
Akira Kiteshi
Samoyed

There is probably a lot more that I haven't discovered yet too. I think Rob Booth should do a Scotland special

Akira Kiteshi isn't his real name.

Pinball is a massive tune.

Aye theres some well good producers in scotland, some dnb guy called Morphy has some filthy tunes out (check out the stopper vip). Theres normally a really good night on at least once a month in Glasgow anyway, ballers, numbers and electric eliminators normally sort out a tasty lineup for their do's!

TAZ BUCKFASTER!

His new release on Rwina is lovely!
There is a guy called Lindon from Dundee who's coming out with some great Drum & Bass too.

I try my hand at writing beats... got a long way to go though

Definitely! I'd say I'd meet up with you but my twat of a mate has already got us tickets for the soundhaus because he "cant be arsed with a whole night of intricate bangers".

The lineup for stereo looks sick, I'd go just to see Brackles again hes a fucking top notch dj!
