I dunno how many of you lot go into the main forum but I've been listening to this mix for the past week and a bit, highly recommended.
Soundcloud
An incredibly special one-of-a-kind mix put together especially for us by Lewis Beadle aka El-B to demonstrate his passion for the music of Colombia, something that has always shown in the unique syncopation and deadly percussion of his garage and dubstep tracks, but which is about to explode into the open with his new-breed UK funky tunes laced with the horns, vocals and rhythms of Cumbia.
You won't hear any UK beats here, though - this is the sound of Colombia, pure and uncut: Merengue, Cumbia and Salsa segued together with unique skill and El-B's own effects and radio jingles. And as Lewis himself says in the interview I did with him -
http://thewire.co.uk/articles/2280/?pageno=2 - "you might not even like it but you can't help it, you have to move a hip or an elbow or something... it's infectiously bouncy... obviously just really fucking dancey".
