I really like the track, really atmospheric and the drop is awesome - loving the sub-bass. Rather short but I presume you're working on that now :) Would love to hear the finished product... The only criticism I have is that the intro is rather long, but that may just me being impatient...

My effort:

Any feedback would be appreciated - apologies for the awful mixing things always sound much worse on soundcloud.

real nice sounds man, love the saxophone, an piano, sort of the jazzy thing :D

maybe the hi hats could be a bit more flamboyant? Like more open and less synced up? Its lready pretty groovy but maybe a bit more?

I think there needs to be more of a change up in the bass line though mid way. Not a fan when it gets distorted, doesn't really suit the track... instead what about like a long sub sound, not much lfo on it with a different melody? Liking this style alot man :D

Not sure about the intro mate, the sounds you got are great, but the tune seems a bit chirpy for the dark mood... Subs fantastic... beat sounds quite hip hoppy, but i guess thats just opinion. The drop i'm not too sure about, that kind of drum roll only really works for up beat music, something like cutting away the music completely for the drop and then have that pre drop sound come in? Pads getting more and more present in the mix? I like that lead sound though! is that something thats been sampled?

Second production over the Christmas period.. not sure how to describe - quite mellow, chopped vocals, simple structure, heavy sub - all the things I like about dubstep.

Good tune, but just screams for some compression and a touch of limiting on the Master bus. You can see that just from the waveform.

I like everything about that other than the vinyl dust and the kick sample, which sounds distorted. On the whole, though, pretty solid.

@LTUK: thanks for the feedback. yeah the intro probably is long compared to the rest of it but thats only cus ive spent the most time on it. when its finnished it should be about 5-6 mins long so it wont be as bad.

@last & least: again thanks for the advice, i agree about the drop, i think im used to making tunes with those kind of build ups and i rushed it. and no its not i rarely sample. id like to get into it, but i think im just too lazy

@bodega: yes i know lmao i was kind of focusing the sounds themselves but once i got it started like i said before i rushed it. ill get to it though dont worry :D

Nice ambience that I'm hearing at the start mate, but I think when the drums enter, they are a bit weak, and you need to use some more solid drum samples to make your beat sound more clear and powerful. Not bad from what I heard though ;)

hey hey!

Thanks for the feedback, yeah i noticed the drum samples i used arrn't really.. Powerfull and clear, (specially not when i compare myself with RedLine) but i m having pretty much troubles finding some good clear powerful sounding drum samples on the net.. Do you maybe have an idea were i could get some better ones? i have checked out the Production Bible thing on here but couldnt find anything good on drum samples.. or was i being very blind and didnt look well-enough.. ? Anyhows, Thanks again, for the feedback :]

Heh :D Drum samples are everywhere mate, a good series of Sample Packs that are good quality are called Vengeance, athough they are used by ALOT of producers nowadays so I would probably recommend doing a bit of searching to find something a bit different so your tracks stand out from everybody elses. Just look on google or something and search for Dubstep Drum Packs or something. Hey, you don't even have to look for Dubstep sample packs, you can use any style sample packs to give your productions that unique sound. Hope that helps :P

Mate I'm really liking your grooves and rythms, your synths and sounds aren't too bad, and your drums aren't either, except from your bass drum I think, I think it should have more punch and sound less like a bass drum from a drum kit (IMO anyway ) Nice music aswell, sounds like you know your theory quite well too

My english teacher gave me a weird look when I mentioned that as the musical instrument I played. Like the wtf stare. I had to give her the 'wiki wiki' dj motion to confirm what i meant.

cheers man, trying to make some space with the lower frequencies so the bass drum isnt so drowned out. might try putting in a punchy kick though and see how that works out.
and now you mention it, i actually know nothing about theory! :D
