THE BEST TIME TO LISTEN TO TUNES...

Post by the sloth » Sat Jan 02, 2010 1:28 am

i hate to post another drug thread, but i just wanted to know if anyone else has noticed the same thing as I have...

every time i go out and party and I indulge myself a little too much I find the absolute best time to listen to tunes is actually the day after a big party... you've had sleep, but not quite enough and you're more or less sober, but your head is still kinda mushy, you know? i find if i have a spliff and chill out the next day, my mind latches on to every little subtle detail in the tunes and the bass just cradles my head in the nicest way... it's like im entirely focused on the music but the focus is completely effortless... the bass has texture and colour and shape to it... it's god damn fantastic. i love this music so much.

i could honestly sit here (and i often do) and just listen to tunes until bed time, occasionally taking spliff breaks. sometimes I spin, but mostly im content to just listen to mixes by whatever artists im feeling at the time... and im tired, so sitting still for hours on end is easy.

can anyone relate?

Fuck yeah I can relate.

I love how you say you love this music so much! I feel quite te same way, I can just sit, turn the bass up and listen to tunes for 12 hours. Though I don't prefer hangover listening, I enjoy the night itself the most.

i had a very profound moment once, listening to burial in bed with headphones on when i was spangled one night after a party. not that i'm condoning or promoting it but there was another level to the music that i hadnt heard before. suppose its bad for me that i have to get battered to hear it like that. dont know if its the best time to listen to it. but i certainly found myself getting lost in the music.

I know everyone says hearing music on a massive system is brilliant, and it is to some extent, although for me, the scene down here is dominated by people who only wanna hear pure wobbles, but I think I enjoy it more when I just sit into the early hours of the morning with my sub on, listening to just pure vibes.

The best music I heard with vibe is everything by an artist called Flashbulb. They say he sounds like AFX Twin but listen for yourself:

Some good tracks
Kirlian shores
Kirlian choices (Wait for the most epic breakdown in music ever, it WILL give you goosebumps)
Passage D
Lawn wake (all the parts)

Check out all the other things he has made, his real name is Benn Jordan, great guy. Support him!

I love listening to it at night, don't know what it is about it but i think its because everything else is quiet and its just you and the music. Love it on long journey's as well when i'm being driven, i can just put in some noise cancelling ear phones and loose myself in the tunes as i look out the window as things go by, proper nice feeling :)

I used to have a pass in holland that would get me free trains through the whole country... When I had a boring sunday, I would just hop on a train and look outside the window while listening to beatyful music!

Such a good feeling, reminds me why I love this shit.
