i've been trying to make a datsik style bass in flstudio, i used sytrus, love filter, some delay and reverb, and Sugar Bytes Effectrix.

no where near finished, but tell me what you think :D
Mate that's wicked. Never heard bass like that from Sytrus! I have used Sytrus quite a bit for bass and it can be awesome(as you've shown!) but its never going to beat Massive or Albino in the long run. Get either of them if you can..
Yea man big ups, i love that sytrus!! the growl is my favorite to tweak out....also...massive? albino? these are new to me please explain, or give an example.

like to hear the finished product, if you'd like help with the eq's hit me up.
ears ringin all night you know how that shit go

Really like this track, has a sorta untidy feel which i like and all the synths seem to work well together. When i was listening at about 4 minutes ish i i was sortof expecting the drum pattern to switch up entirley when the claps came in maybe try giving it a faster feel at that point?

Thanks for your feedback on my tune!

Have a great 2010

Hello everyone, happy new year! haven't been on here in ages cos i've been away, but i've been back for about a week and started on this tune. i've got most of it done like but it needs more eqing and basic tidying up i think.
what do yous reckon?
Soundcloud

i was going for a sort of headhuntery type... bit trippy and bit sort of repetitive but in like a flowing progressive way. make sure u listen to the second drop, there's a kind of weird melody bit that comes in

man im really feeling this song, liked the drum patterns, subtle melodies nothing too in your face real smooth

maybe it didnt need that voice sample at the start though? perhaps if it was changed to something more distorted and trippy like the song

LTUK wrote:Riproarious - its sounding nice. I like the Cello although Im not sure such short stabs really suit the whole track, maybe try longer strokes after the drop. I like the bass, its nice and low key - but maybe it could do with a bit more variation when you bring it back in. Its sounding good though man, a good mix of sounds.

Here's something I made today - its pretty rough

Comments/feedback much appreciated
hey thats pretty cool, the intro reminds me of distance - v for some reason

This is sick! Getting some seriously mysterious vibes from this one. I'd say this is set-worthy :D

Only thing I would say that needs work is that it needs more on the low end, maybe a subtle bass of some sort.

But I would seriously drop this.

thanks dood, aye well i was thinkin of havin that first wobble come back in or maybe change it up and change the frequency and stuff but i reckon it should come back. i'm havin a bit of trouble gettin the sub right tho, i originally had it louder and it was distorting some of the drums so i toned it down a tiny bit, sounds alright on my speakers tho, which are pretty decent, i might need to tone down the kick a tiny tiny bit like

i dunno i like the arrangement you have so far, but if you think it'll sound better than go for it... but if you're getting distortion on the low end, you should use fruity EQUO on the kick and also the bass and cut out any frequencies you're not using. just start clicking on the little blue lines, and try and get rid of as many as you can while still having it sound the same. i hope that makes sense... that gets rid of most of the distortion for me. oh, and the drums sound great, so i wouldn't mess with them that much.
