you've just gotta listen to it and feel it and add as you go. when it strats to drag, add something new or change up your sound in a way that makes it fresh. then that'll get boring and you have to add something new. there's no formula, you just have to feel what you're doing.

Re: a little help guys PLZ!!
try just copyin your bass to a new track and layer your bass a little bit, this has worked for me before in the past, just changin up the noise in the smallest way can make the biggest difference
Re: a little help guys PLZ!!
thanks boys, ill take as much of this advice as possible when i make tracks, cause my tracks drag and i get bored quickly thats why i can never seem to make a 5 min track let alone a 3 min one
the concentration is very limited lokl

Re: a little help guys PLZ!!
Def the the high hats, I am just learning how key they are in song movement. being relatively new to music I am not sure if my input will be worth a whole lot but I have noticed in a lot of songs that the kick drum also has a a lot of driving force, say you have one kick in a bar, then in the next you have two etc etc, if you change this up in some way it can give the illusion of a song speeding up or slowing down, giving it a ncie push pull and a lot of producers do that. It is really easy in dubstep considering that the drums are halftime so there is a lot of room for kicks to be placed in crazy spots.

take shit OUT and let what's there push at a different energy level.

Less is more, aim to achieve tension in a track by making the listener wait or want that extra element... when you do introduce it it will have far more impact.
Re: a little help guys PLZ!!

I like to pull everything out except the sub and kick and snare for 2 bars, then I'll gradually add more hi hats and the other percussion over 2 more bars. Then bring in a new element.
