this is the stupid thing, people are too eager to define themselves by their musical taste and think having a hatred for T.I and others of that ilk makes them intelligent, or that by liking T.I they arent boring blah blah blah etc etc and in so doing come across as one dimensional. Personally I can go ape to the fun shit and go deep with the deep shit which frankly, makes me better than anyone else. Ever.

Booty shaking vs chin scratching I guess - the eternal conflict

but besides the point these tunes are complete shite! people seriously like clownstep rubbish like this?! :o sounds like he was influenced by twisted individual's dnb
I actually emailed Chemical a while back telling them that this was wrong. I guess they still haven't fixed it. Maybe if we spam the hell out of them, they will get off their asses and fixes.

...and Dubchild's tunes are ridiculously good, for the record.

"Actually, I'll think you'll find that my opinion is the correct one."

"No it isn't, you are wrong!"

"No I amn't, you cock!"

FIIIIGGGGHHHTTTT

Oh, and on a personal note, I like most dubchild stuff, dead-upbeat. Not such a fan of Twisted, although he creates some of the most incredible "honk" basslines ever to make it onto wax, which is a feat in itself. But seriously, I don't think Twisted tunes were made for ppl to sit around listening to!

how you can like dubstep and complain about things being 'clownstep' is beyond me. i always took it to mean tunes that stuck to the traditional, simplistic formula of classic dnb - literally just drums and bass - that were looked down on in the light of the overcomplicated and over....trance-ified standards of modern producers.
bro it's a condescending name made up on DOA about 5 years ago for the swingy jump up party dnb that was about at the time and it stuck. Nothing to do with the stripped down traditional formula drum n bass you're referring to. Just fyi
clown·step noun 1. a style of big, loud & stupid Drum & Bass with roots in jump-up & hardstep, distinguished (for want of a better) as much in its repetition of components- ubiquitous bassline patches & sampled breaks- as its structure, patterns containing little variation throughout the length of the track. Displaying little musical content, its only redeeming feature is the amusing action of frequencies on the human body when projected through a powerful sound system; therefore has gained popularity on dancefloors.

NB. The volume & proximity to the speakers required to experience the phenomenon described is highly likely to cause hearing loss, and in extreme cases internal bleeding & brain damage- though that the latter affliction is the cause of the genre's continuing production & broadcast is yet to be substantiated with actual medical evidence. Volume-dampening earplugs are recommended.

clown·step·pin' adj., clown·step·pah noun

Etymology: first coined by Dylan on the DOA forums to describe the swingbeat sound of Body Rock by Andy C & Shimon, and Pendulum's Vault- apparently it reminded him of the band music that often accompanies of the clowns entering a circus. It soon came to apply to the Nu-School Jump-up style the labels these artists represented (RAM Records & Breakbeat Kaos, respectively) pushed following these releases, and thereafter other imprints & producers of the same ilk. Nosher was the earlier lesser-used adjective, and Wobble came later to replace Clownstep in common usage.
