Re: How organised is your production library?
I spent a few days getting all samples, presets project files organised so I never have to do it again. Done it alphabetically a_drum breaks & loops, b_kicks, c_snares & claps etc right upto z_sample packs then I used media bay to bulk tag them, now when I get new samples I know where to stick them. OCD

I'll just quote my own post from this thread on sample organisation ---> http://www.dubstepforum.com/sample-orga ... 22536.html

It took a while to audition every sample.
For the task of auditioning I used Reapers media explorer. Reapers media explorer functions as a normal Windows folder, meaning I could delete, rename and drag & drop files directly to and from the media explorer to the other relevantly named folders etc.
Reapers media explorer also allows tempo synched looping and scrolling of samples using the cursor keys. Finally, it builds a small visual preview of the sample so one can check for glitches, normalisation levels etc. (I store all the peak files in a separate folder so I can flush them periodically... Saves a big mess! Ditto with Lives peak files...)
As pointed out, every time I open an old project I am prompted to find the correct samples. As I didn't rename any of my samples, this isn't an issue. I know exactly where all my samples are located.
Although previously my sample collection was fairly organised, it is now super organised!

All my samples are under a folder called Samples, from there its just a mess of random folders with drums, loops, synths, bass etc. Also found out that I have 27GB's of samples.
