Best way to find sick tunes?

Post by chronicrecords » Fri Jan 15, 2010 3:33 am

It seems dj's always have insane tunes that ive never heard of in my life , by artists ive never heard of to.

what is the best way to find these kind of hidden gems? check out the the dubs section? look through everything on juno, beatport, and other websites that sell underground tunes? or what? what do dj's do to find their tunes basically is what im asking. is it all about just taking the time to listen to people youve never heard of and hopefuly finda gem? cheers

make sexy time with the internet and music will be born. gestation period is directly effected by how good you were.

stay up to date on new vinyl releases checking at least once a week, through this forum and its lists at the top, as well as through sample clips at different online shops. cross reference artist to label to artist to label, this will constantly reveal new discoveries. i always follow every artist i know i like. indeed from the dubs section over the years i remember vvv, dfrnt, james blake, and many others when they first started bringing out their productions and looking for feedback. Know what sounds you like and have a passion for them. Always keep an open mind.
