been there since morning!
was a ukg dj, played garage nation, libertys all the big ones. slowly moved onto breakbeat, but kept an eye on what tempa and every 1 was doing, baught the records.
slowly began mixin dubstep into my brekbeat sets then the scene exploded and just found a whole love 4 the scene in general.
all the while i was makin tracks to.
the scene reminds me of dnb bak in the day, fwd is like metalheadz sessions at dingwalls! just love it.

I was completely confused by the whole sound at first, used to hear tracks on the breezeblock but didn't quite get it. Then i picked up some of the early hyperdub Kode9 (spit etc.) releases and went from there. Once Kode9 did that burial mix on the breezeblock i was totally hooked.
This time last year i was just getting into it i guess.....started counting my dubstep 12's the other day....frightening man, i spent close to a grand on dubstep last year....
Dubstep - More addictive than smack?

Been into Hip Hop for ages now, when the grime thing started i wasnt feeling it. But over time it grew on me, and aswell as a love for music i was listening to loads of stuff. Dubstep hit me about 4 months ago, but only just getting deep into it.
Big up Tee from www.Rapnews.co.uk aswell for putting me onto Skream, Kode9 and this forum!!

i used to be well into my garage.. used to buy. .Darqwan/ zed bias / zinc. / wookie etcetc. . tht died off tho. .i kinda followed dnb. for a couple of years after this. . i was producing grime still. but i wasnt really aware of 'dubstep' .
i heard Quiet Storm on rinse 1 time.. i just randomly tuned in. when i was in london/ heard stuff that was familiar sounding. but different .hazey memories..
was still not aware of 'dubstep'
i probably realised what dubstep was sometimes early 2005 maybe . . the days of the blogspots. .dubways etcetc

i knew about it from yeeeeeeeears ago cos i knew Heny when he came to Uptown, but i never actually heard any back then. I heard a few bits here n there through the years cos i was into grime, then I started workin at Mixing (where Big Apple used to be on Surry St), met Ironslag/Kromestar first then N-type, Walsh and some others and was suddenly hearin shitloads... and liked it cos i was brought up listenin to reggae among other stuff and always reeeeally liked and admired the skill in dub. i was happy youngers were kinda reopening and expanding upon dub. PLUS i'm a 100% certified bass addict
started to spin house in 95 got more and more into deep house. 97-98 got into Speed Garage & 44's. 1999 or somethin when the Ghost/Tempa/Ammunition-era started. some diggin and discovered a location on the map called Croydon. vent down there in 2001-2002 to the legendary Big Apple, fwd>> aswell. and here we are ...
DNB producer showed me Search & Destroy/Toasty stuff in early 2005. Liked that, so hunted dubstep mixes online.
Listened to Forensics (Bristol) stuff from smokering.co.uk for months, and other things. Fell in love with it!
Hooked by lots of tracks but (predictably?) Request Line and other Skream stuff - bless. Also D1, Omen, After Dark, Vex'd, etc...
Got to know names. Didn't have my first FWD until June 2006, first DMZ until Jan 2007! Only joined the forum last Nov.
Started making tunes seriously a couple of months ago (been doodling for years), started buying most dubstep releases around same time.
