I still consider myself and the majority of people in the state of TX fairly new to dubstep (picked up on it, summer 09).
Been trying to find out what to best use with dubstep - on an opinionated place such as this - ever since. I've most definitely gathered my answer.
Thank you all for clearing up the confusion :]]

I think it's a great tempo, verging on perfect. The only thing I find equally as fun to dance to is 120-130bpm techno and house. I'm not fond of anything lower than 110 (bar hip-hop), or higher than 170. Dancing half time to DnB feels too slow for me, but in normal time I get knackered in 5 minutes.
But still, fuck all this having specific dances for types of music. As long as it's got an easy time signature, it's danceable. All about 6/4 and 7/8 though :w:

The rhythms are more versatile to me than the manic hardcore/D&B stuff or pulsy four on the floor material. It's definitely made me enjoy dancing a whole lot more than I used to.

Liquid and Pop-Locking. Like the guy in the video. I learnt to dance in psytrance parties, on too much drugs...I just don't find any pleasure in jumping around mindlessly to music. Sometimes it gets really weird, but probably in a good way 'cause I got asked more than once if I was studying in dance or something.

the best thing about dubstep nights is you can shuffle silently, with your hands in your pocket and your brain at half-sleep

the worst thing about dubstep is that once you take this attitude towards dancing to another night you get millions of people complaining that you're killing the vibe/not having fun/on too much ketamine

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJqpDIrA ... re=related this looks pretty spot on, yet no name for the routine.

The number of videos of people claiming they know 'how to dance to dubstep.'
Mostly American 12 year olds listening to Borgore.

I literally want to kill them all.
