But cheers for that it's cool u spend so much time reviewing all our songs and helping us out. Really cool of u man. Same goes for jfk.

Here are two other tracks I have done, less soundtracky more
actual aong orientated.

Soundcloud

soulsaw-
Just a very dark dubstep tune with a grungy wub

Soundcloud

smells like teen dub-
remix if nirvana's smells like teen spirit

personally I prefer smells
like teen spirit remix but others don't seem to like it that much.

I don't mind I'd whoever reviews this only has the stamina to review one of them lol

cheers all

1st of you are a DON!!!

Its been a while since I listened to a track, got a bassface and had to wheel it back this goes for both tunes.

soulsaw

Nice bass loved it when it came into from the drop very gritty and grimey exaclty what I love in dubstep.

Liked the lead the synth is great doesnt become over baring like some tunes (mostly mine :@) ive heard recently props for that.

Cant really critasice the tune.... ummm na i cant big up

Smells like teen dub

Like the idea made it more of a gritty tune that it actually is.

Bass is good fits in well with the idea.

production is good but the vocals seem a bit low to me as does the whole tune, or it could be my headphones i dunno :S If it is my headphones then I apologise .
Great tune great idea, props sir

First i wanna introduce myself since i'm new on this board. I'm a guy from Belgium and i'm only recently started producing (about 3 months ago). I managed to get something 'finished'. (still needs some mastering, and finetuning but i'm still a noob at that). So i decided to give it a shot and post something on here to get som good constructive feedbacks.

I use FL studio 9, Massive, Albino3, shitload of fx plugins,...

Here it goes:

A filthy piece called Altair 4

Soundcloud

You fucking BADMAN!!!!!

What a tune exactly the kind of dub I like pure filth!!!!!

Absolutly wicked drop into the bass and that bass is lovely exactly what my ears wanted to hear.

The bass is very effective I love it this is a skankers tune deffo I could imaging scala, mos, matter going off on this tune deffo .

Like you said this does need mastering and mixing but if your a noob to all this well done sir!!!!

When the mastering and mixing is done This will be firrreeee!!!!!!

As you can guess I love this tune props and big ups from the uk you belgian filth meister keep up the good work

LTUK wrote:JFK I listened to your newest tune and I have to say I really enjoyed it. I'm a big fan of Amon Tobin, Burial and ambiance in general so it's definitely "my type" of music. The bass is absolutely awesome, the way it pulsates is really atmospheric. And the cymbal/vox interaction is really cool too. Digging the creative sampling for the drum beat and your general use of re sampling too. Got nowt in the way of criticism except send some promos to Hyperdub or Ninja Tunes or someone :) I really think its that good...
Thanks for the kind words mate! :D Glad you enjoyed it.

Hit me up if you have anything you want feedback on.

Its my girlfriends "time of the month"........... You might wonder why Im telling you this. The answer is simple. I have played this 4 times in a row now and she has just come into the lab and asked me not to play it anymore as it has brought her to the brink of crying............

Props:
+Intro is a gem. The "timestretched strings fx" that you have going on set the mood brilliantly. Layering with (this is going to sound stupid  ) the "insects in the jungle" type fx adds a beautiful organic feel.
+@10 secs. That piano. Fuck. Is this a sample or did you play this yourself? If its a sample please let me have it :)
+@40 secs. 2nd more high pitched piano sits well on top of the first more midrange one. Brilliant eqing here. Nice touch of reverb too.
+@1:38 The piano over the breakdown keeps the mood consistent. I would have probably cut the piano out totally here. Which would have been a mistake. You have inspired me to try including more melody in my breakdowns. Big up.
+@2:20 REAL "tear jearking" piano here. Dont know what it is about this particular section of the piano that grabs me so well..... but it does. And to be honest with a track like this its always better to hear people say "Yeah it gets me everytime that track, but Ive no idea why........" adds mystery and also means they will keep on listening to it to try and work out why :)
+Bass is well rounded and had the sub in the lab shaking pleasantly. Nice contrast with the top end pianos. Nice rhythm to the bass keeps the tune rolling.
+Kicks sound punchy but not overpowering. Snares are woody sounding enough to sound organic and have a nicely selected amount of reverb. Hats are nicely shuffled and keep a nice groove throughout.
+Explosion fx at the end of both breakdowns is good. Not overdone and grabs the attention ready for those kicks and snares to get the track grooving again.

Advice:
-Kicks could be a touch quieter at the very very start. Sounds like you drop the volume of the kick anyway when the piano starts so this might help make the transition smoother.
-Bass in the first section has just a touch too much midrange. It overlaps withe the more midrange piano and muddys things up ever so slightly. The bass in the 2nd section is more like it. It seems to be almost all sub in this part and works much better. Your midrange piano gives you all the mids you will ever need in this track bruv.
-Hats need a tiny tiny touch more verb.
-Intro could perhaps be slightly longer. Build that anticipation!

Overall:
Well...... What can I say? This is in my top three favourite tunes I have reviewed yet. A great track..... no fuck it.... an excellent SONG from a very talented producer, this guy has an ear for a melody that lesser producers would kill their granny for. And the best thing about it? He's only gonna get even better from here on. :D

Right. Now Im off to Tesco to get the missus some chocolate....

Big up :e: :w: :e:

Thanks for the awesome review JFK, I was completely taken aback by it and it really made my day! I was kinda unsure as to whether I was heading in the right direction or not but you've given me a reason to keep on going :) I'll get right on to EQ'ing the sub a bit better in the first bit, and I'll have another look at the kick's and hats too. I also think it could do with an extra 8 or 16 at the beginning as it feels a little sudden.Sorry I upset your gf btw :( It was completely unintentional... the chocolate will help for sure, they should have it in female first aid kits! Thanks again for putting so much time and effort into reviewing, it really is appreciated.

Hi guys, have my first track ready after been using acid for probably a few weeks, had a shuffle loop I liked so made a short track. Tried to go for a pretty unique sound rather than just using a "wob", came out pretty weird but I enjoy hearing it everyday [not over and over for a few hours while I'm writing though]. If anyone wants to check it and give feedback, that'd be sweet. Remember my first track so be nice...

Been waiting for this one.... heh he :)

Knell - Destiny

First up, gotta say I love the fact that you have clearly put a lot of thought into the subject matter of this track. You dont often hear of EDM that has any kind of serious inspiration. The stuff you do hear about with serious overtones tends to be about the makers own personal experience so its nice to see you have taken that a step further and written something from another persons perspective.

Props:
+The intro.... Oh my god the intro :) I loved the way it kind of lulls you into a false sense of security with the booming, funky drums and sweet sounding almost Joker style synths.
+@7 secs the synth here is just what an intro synth should sound like in my book. Hooks you in without being overly aggressive or in your face. Dont get to comfortable though because......
+@14 secs another synh here adding a slightly calmer edge to the intro. Nice layering here, no frequency/key clashes.
+@19 secs loved the little stutter in the track here. A nice subtle touch in a hectic mix.
+@27 secs 2 more synths here that start one after the other trading edgy almost metal guitar style riffs. This is my favourite part. The feeling of energy here is immense. This shows what a decent musical ear and first class synth skills can achieve.
+@48 sec short stripped back breakdown is nice touch here, would give the floor chance to recover slightly before....
+@55 sec (Holy shit has all this really happened in 55 seconds??)Wicked drop here the two guitar style synths are back again. Trading, almost question and answer style, riffs again but this time they have a bassy wobble layered with them. Adds some real grit to the track and, as before compliments the two other synths well.
+@1:29 Nice little pause..... Made me think "Something fucked up is about to happen......." I wasnt disappointed :D
+@1:30 Change of tone here with synths taking a more chaotic off kilter flavour. Works well with the overall vibe of the track.
+@2:25 another pause this time with a high pitched scream noise. Dont know if this is from a synth or if its a heavily processed sample but it added even more of a sinister air to the final part.
+Nice to see a more complex snare pattern than the standard "snare on three" fare. The double clap pattern in the intro is cool as fuck. Nice eq here.
+Samples at the end sound like the voices of lost souls to me........ Again dunno if this is synth work or a heavily processed sample. Either way it adds a nice twist to the ending.

Advice:
-Mix sounds a little muddy in the bottom end to me. This kind of adds to the claustrophobic nature of some parts of the track though. Easily fixed ith some eq though so nothing major.
-Snares could be a touch louder.
-Was gonna put that its "a bit short"....... then I realised its a demo and that would be a dickhead thing to say.

Overall:
A rugged dancefloor track that will keep the ravers happy and the deeper listeners captivated by its inspiration. Dont be under any illusion though, this isnt a happy track. The desperation and claustrophobia leak out of every pore. Like the man said, "not for the faint hearted" but if you've got the stomach for it Knell will take you on a ride to the dark side that you wont ever want to forget. Get to know.

Peace :e: :w: :e:

I'm aware some of the samples are out and weak, but it's my second remix, and it's all cut a paste job on audacity.
so getting them perfectly in time does get abit tedious hahahah

would love to hear some feedback on this one- pretty simple one with a west coast sound.
If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits 88 miles per hour, you're going to see some serious shit.
