BEEM - The Future

Post by cosmic revenge » Fri Jan 29, 2010 1:13 am

can we discuss how awesome this album is? its like modern funk with hints of rnb hip hop and p funk. he has it available to download for free right here http://beem.se/index.html
i don't know if its been discussed here already, but people need to hear this. really would like to hear this stuff in a club on a bangin system. crank your monitors up and make sure you clean some of the mess up in your room cuz you'll need some space to dance

i love this album in a sticky rhubarb kinda way.

unfortunately, i had the brainwave of downloading it, putting it on cd, deleting the files, losing the cd and now cant get the torrent to download. anywhere i can download this normally/not via torrent?

haha i know what skweee is. i said modern funk because some of the songs on this album are very well put together as far as musicality goes and i think actual funk musicians would be pretty impressed, whereas some of the other skweee stuff people are putting out relies heavily on more electronic and 8 bit ish sounds as far as i've listened so far. i feel like some of the tunes on this album could be perfectly mixed in a set with zapp, the gap band, s.o.s. band etc which i absolutely love

love this LP, better than most other skweee I've heard. Considered dropping 50 Euros for the copy of the rather rare 7" of The Famous / Mouth Everest that's selling on Discogs but can't quite justify it....

Have you checked with Harmonia directly? They may have a few copies left you could get cheaper than that...

Also, check out the newer stuff, seems like skweee in general has been getting a more polished feel lately with the really "off-kilter" (for lack of a better term) jarring stuff going by the wayside for the most part. The new Randy Barracuda and Mesak albums are pretty smooth while still feeling very skweee.

Its sooo good! "Automan" is one of the best tunes Ive heard in a long time, "Color Separated" has a dope Prince meets David Byrne vibe, and everything else is just excellent. Nice one Mr Beem!
