IM SO SICK OF ALBINO

Post by trike12 » Fri Jan 29, 2010 10:14 pm

Im not, im just sick of it being the only vst synth i own.

Im in need of some new things to play with,
would really love it if someone could recommend me some softsynths.
tried searching but i'd like to have some up to date recommendations.

ive looked at and listened to the arturia CS80 and Jupiter v8, they sound
pretty good, but before spending my money id like to hear if i should spend
my money on something else.

been looking at those to, i dont really like any of them.
note that the synth CAN be expensive, ive got a decent amount of cash atm.
i really just want something that sounds really good, hit me with anything.

My next VST will be:

Albino (which you have)
or
Circle (which looks amazing)

My teacher has used it in some of his tunes.

i dont think i wanna go for that yet.
besides ive that it can never sound as good as a "ready made" synth or whatever you call it.
(dont know how i would say that in english? retail synths maybe?)

really a basic va vst, but Sylenth has an unmatched filter, in my opinion.

If you really want to play, and you're down for arturia, what about the moog modular. Wire that fucker up to no end.

Second the sytrus. Very different than working with albino. Makes huge pure sub, or nasty metallics, and its got all kinds of lfo/env that you can just go apeshit with. Albino covers like a 10th of what sytrus can do. More work to design in sytrus I suppose, or maybe u just have to know how to do it.

I would personally recommend U-he Zebra. The latest version (2.5) has some nice new features and expanded XMF filters which include a few different overdrive characters. THAT synth, IMHO, is a Dubstep Monster.

I've recently bought NI FM8 and it's a beast once you get to grips with it. Love the morph grid on it.

It has loads of pre-made synths (and the rest) that sound just as fantastic and are just as inspirational as other VST's. Plus they occasionally sell it for 99 euros. Just do it.
