I only use the free demo version, all it means is that you can't save it in a project. Therefore i get what i want, then just bounce that down to an audio file that i work with.

livecut is a free sort of alternative, not tried the effectrix one, like the idea of bouncing out on the demo version, thats all i used dblue for - bounce out a few alternatives and cut n paste the good bits.

and as everyone is saying, this was a miracle tool for about 2 days until everyone and his goat had glitched up a robbie williams song and released it on a netlabel called "infinity corpse" or something. its a good toy and still a handy quick effect but use it sparingly, let it loose at the risk of being dicked on by the internet.
