You know I wondered if this was possible a little while back I'm glad somebody else is intrigued.

You should just try and write one in Soundforge or Logic or sumfin

You can draw waveforms easily in Renoise. It's not perfectly drawn but here's what your picture sounds like.

I know you can draw waveforms in Logic and Pro Tools (probably Cubase as a well). It's a pretty nifty way of making drum hits.

You can use waveshapers for such things if you just want to draw the waveform yourself. Converting images is different, but tools exist like the one pictured above.

There are a few freeware synths about that allow you to draw waveforms

I was gonna tell you to sculpt it out of a sine with a waveshaper... but wormcode beat me too it.

Absynth is pretty good for drawing waveforms, you can use them as oscillators, lfos, whatever you like really

Sytrus in FL lets you semi-draw your wave-forms and you can also do it on audacity if you zoom in all the way on a generated sine wave with the pen tool. (but from the shapes you what, I suppose a square would be a better starting block)

That's sick! Do you just have to free-hand it?

Simple, record a piece of blank audio, now open this up in the sample editor and zoom in loads. Now use the pen tool (in the top right hand corner of the sample editor window) and you can draw waveforms.

the version of operator in ableton 8 allows you to draw your own waveforms.

Hey, yeah, you can do this in Audacity too. IDK how Logic handles it, but audacity gives you point to point straight lining and makes repetition of wave pretty easy...

Unless logic 9 had changed this you can only free hand but looping the cycle is easy enough.

Fuzzpils Oatmeal VSTi allows users to handraw and modify waveforms directly within the synth. Just select 'User Waveform' from the oscillator waveform selection menu and then click 'edit' to bring up the drawing window.

Download it for free from here ---> http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=133930 and install the limeflavour skin from here ---> http://www.box.net/shared/mlaz8l7bib

PS, use the CTRL and Shift keys to make drawing easier.

↑↑↑ This sounded really promising, but I'm a mac user.

Is there anything for ableton?
