Re: Feeling so uninspired
Been stuck for 3 myself... I only ever started to produce becasue DJing would get kinda slumpy after a while, vice versa... When ones not flowin the other one is... n if i didnt go into production slumps, id never get any mixes recorded.

Open up a random folder of samples that you have a or go find one, then scroll through till you find a sound you like, put effects on it accordingly, i.e reverb it up, crush it, distort it. Do this a couple of times and save all the new samples in a folder, when you've got qutie a few try and make a song from it...

Re: Feeling so uninspired
Yeah, get about 12 random bursts of wobble... n logic to time or lfo rate or anything, just synth a couple random ass wub sounds in key with eah other... load a nce drum pattern (Im sure YOU of all people have plenty in stock)... n just chop bits of wub out of all the random samples n put em where they look good, build a 16 all on eyes, dont listen to it till youve got a 16, go for logic not sound... N then hit the play button... Wub chopping always gets me SOMEWHERE, even if not too a finished tune.

Re: Feeling so uninspired
whenever this happens to me, i just try to make something that i've never done before...i think most of my writer's block comes from when i feel like i've already said a lot in one genre or style and am trying to say the same things over. trying to make something you don't think you can do or have never tried can really awaken a lot of creative juices that were idle before.
case in point: last time i had writer's block i made this
Soundcloud
even if you think that sounds horrible, i still learned a lot, had fun making it, and reignited a bit of desire to start experimenting and working on tunes again

Re: Feeling so uninspired
Another thing I tend to do when this happens, is instead of making a tune, I make what makes a tune.
For example, id load up a bunch of samples with some sort of tail, reverse crashes etc, a couple of noise osc's and just using various filters n things to make buildup's.
Don't always need to be working on a tune to get that production quality goin.

How does I wobbled bass?
						Re: Feeling so uninspired
huh... well inspiration is something that can't be forced. if all you're doing is working, then coming home and sitting around the house.. then you need to spice things up. go and do something crazy, have some fun, get away from society for a bit maybe.. a boring life doesn't make for good art.

^^^ Wot he sed...
If you've got writers block, go out and do something completely unrelated to music. After a few weeks of doing other things, you will probably feel inspired again!
(Works for me anyway)

Re: Feeling so uninspired
lol trpwr you've been coming up with mad shit recently though...so it'll pass.
For some reason I've been going on a rampage. Made like 7 tunes in the past two weeks.
What I did was consciously refuse to open ableton...and I watched tv series and stuff. tried to participate in society instead of locking myself away.

Re: Feeling so uninspired
Hey yeah so did I... what kinda DnB? Idk even know if thats what youd call what Im working on, I worked at 180 for a few hours n then ended up droppin to 162 out of feeling... 162bpm... too slow for DnB?
God... I hope this doesnt turn into a thread full of all of our entry DnB tracks... that could lead to some rough listenin if we all have nothin for experience in the genre.
