That dark dubstep sound

Post by section25 » Sat Jan 20, 2007 2:19 am

Hey everyone, from a dubstep fan in AUS...

I am new to the whole dubstep scene, I was listening to a radio station which was playing some really cool dnb and then all of a sudden this really dark minimal stuff with lots of bass came on - I was loving it.

I found out later this was dubstep.

Now, I like my music to be dark, and minimal.

But whenever I download "dubstep" I find all these songs that dont quite sound like what I am looking for in dubstep.

Can someone please give me some names for those who make that really dark dubstep?

Cheers

check out Loefah, not always minimal but has that darkness and the tension between bass and beat is enough to make burst a vein.

the excision set is a good recommendation. i would also suggest tracks by:

search and destroy
vex'd
loefah
d1
distance
emalkay

most of these artists are in the excision set so you can make yourself familiar with the sound they are pushing.
I AM NOT OK.

Hey guys, thanks for all the names and links.

It was in fact FBI 94.5 I was listening to, on a Friday night and it was going off.

And so yeah that means I am in the Sydney area which is unfortunately on the completely other side of the country from Perth
