help with hype dubstep

Post by djtrash » Tue Feb 09, 2010 4:15 am

hey, new to the boards but i've been listening to dubstep for a while now. as i've listened, i've gravitated more towards rusko's older stuff (do u wanna have a party, cest la vie, and older remixes, etc) that i guess would described as being more "hype" than a lot of dubstep out there. can anybody point me towards something similar without getting to intense (see ashburner "next hype" remix) as i'm kinda getting tired of the same tracks, no matter how nasty they are? thanks guys

I don't quite know where you're getting at, but maybe some Trolley Snatcha, Doctor P stuff ?

thanks for the helpful replies. as far as refining what i'm looking for, i guess i would say stuff that has a pretty driving (compelling) bassline without sacrificing the high electronic beeps, sweeps and creeps that round out the sound and make for dancefloor mayhem. hope that helps any future recommendations. thanks again guys.

not trolley snatcha.....im pretty sure what he means by hype is out of tune unbearable wobbles.....ie: dayn, rusko, funtcase etc....

trolley snatcha is too good to fit in that category

So you like trolley but hate Funtcase? they pretty much make the same style of tunes, thats the same as liking oranges but hating orange juice.

they may have tunes that sound similar.....but trolley snatcha has his own distinct style....no detuned wobbles n such......

the difference......trolley snatcha doesnt try to be brostep.....funtcase's sole purpose is brostep......not that i dont like funtcase

Touche. I like them both and think theyre both making some of the best hype stuff. Circus Records FTW. I really cant stand 90% of the hype brostep shit but the stuff I do like is awesome. Rottun Records is also a good label that has quality control in what they release. Check my souncloud in my Sig for Feb Dusbtep Mix, all bangers but not shitty noise that sounds horrible

big ups on the mix.....i hate bangers that try to hard....like for me there is that limit of the amount of brostep i can handle.....funtcase and doctor p are right around that limit.....anymore and its too much for me....cant stand it......TROLLEY SNATCHA IS DOING BIG THINGS.......

Do yourself a favor and skip 6 months of listening to shit dubstep. That means listening to something else besides tearout aka "dancefloor mayhem". lol
