I don't think I really care about how a mix is done really, I care more about the tracks on there. If the mix is a nicely done one that takes me hear and there, great! How it's done is not really important to me. It is impressive if someone can beatmatch jungle or a weird 2-step track well, but at the end of the day it's the music for me.

fuck CDJs, fuck 1210s, but rock on 1hr mixes that took you a year to make?

this. dude just get a trail for virtual dj, its not great but its free and still pretty fun, and you get to mix. if you like it go for a pair of decks, ive only been doin it a little while but im already lookin into getting a pair of cdjs or somet.

hell yeah dude, if your on VDJ, lemme throw it out, you WANT a korg nanokontrol. I imagne VDJ supports midi right, traktor does... but dude, those play button maps + fader maps on the pitches change it ALL dude, seriously, best 60 bucks you can spend.

N if its CDJs your in the market for, Ive seen cool results from 4 channel mixers with effects + players, you can go pretty cheap with it if you really search, denon makes some responsive cheapo players, n I think behringer has a 4 channel effect mixer, n numarks got some cool cheap shit in the CD desk and rackmount shit thats as cheap as they come n lasts forever, pretty accurate too... you gotta wire those with a laptop for effects though on master... N if you send CDJ master signals to a track in your DAWs mixer, eheh... its fuckin on... FL for drum patterns and effects with the cdjs down below and module apps on the AUX? 400 bucks total. N thats buyin the cheap FL too.

Thanks for the heads up dude, one of the ones i was lookin into was the hercules set, there pretty damn cheap and theyve had some sweet reviews. Only problem i can see is their size, the e2s i think are about the size of an a4 sheet of paper.
I dont think that FL is too important though, im guessing i can hook the set up with the one i have at the moment?

But keeping all this in mind anyway i think im gonna save up a little more and have a deeper look into it all before i make any decisions.

Generally you just make an audio track, record enable, and set the input and it will get the signal.
