170bpm half step again haha (I need to start making dubstep again, seeing as these are dubstep forums lol)...

Cool intro, made me think of those massive things from War of the Worlds for some reason. I don't listen to much wobble, so my feedback won't be too relevant, but that sounded pretty cool. I liked it.
Re: PUT YOUR WORKS-IN-PROGRESS HERE FOR FEEDBACK.
I didn't get any feedback on whether this sounds much like Dubstep. But anyway here's the finished track. Its real chilled laid back.

Gotta eat to 'step, man, no worriesneon, sorry for the delay --> werk, what can you say![]()

Thanks man, good tips, also big up j-one for the support. I just finished a new draft with a lot of the changes you said-- the track is re-mastered and I made sure all the bass was bounced to .mp3 and then re-processed. I also extended the third drop, made the the first drop less forceful, and made the kick deeper and heavier. I'm not sure about FM so I will PM you about that.this is definitely a sick song![]()

+ nice techy intro, i like the slapback on the synth lead
+ vocal sample provides soild back drop to intro, sets the mood
+ love the bitcrushing(?) on the vocal sample
+ YES - love it when the half time goes to 4/4 at the end, so fucking awesome for the momentum of the tune, bangin!! this will totally get the floor moving! i totally wanted to hear at least another 8 bars of this part![]()
- maybe filth up the mid bass by FM'ing it a little? if you'd like, pm me and i can tell you how we do this in massive or FM8. also -- to the extent yr not doing it already - resample, resample, resample. it is like dual tracking guitars to get a fat sound when recording metal - just gotta do it!
- intro is so strong, made me want a face ripping first drop, maybe fill it out more?
- a lot melodic elements at the same time at 0:57, this is another thing me and my co-producer spend a lot of time debating ... it is tempting but ultimately not widely donein doobschtaap -- depends what you are after i 'spose

Oh and the melodic elements are just a style thing. I try to put a little melody into my dubstep; I'm trying to mix the format up a bit and go for a slightly different sound.
I think I'm going to go take a shower to get all this filthy dubstep off me.

@ j-one - really like 'until dawn'. Its very musical and uplifiting and i think you've nailed the drum patterns and synths. And also i like that underlying bass! Honestly trying to think of some critism but nada, nothing, it's a very clean production
@ Alien Delegate - that intro is VERY cool! Love sci-fi themes in dubstep
Add a few more fx in that intro i recon, maybe a sweep before it drops, or something to just build it up abit more. Maybe add some crush to the 'wooble' to make it abit heavier (if thats what you're after). But yeah its coming on well!
@ Astral - i like the bass variation thus far! I can imagine if coming on really well. Would sound great if you gave it a metallic like sound, if you know what i mean, roughen it up. Drums are abit sparse but im guessing there just something really quick at the moment.
@ Lowgain - Mixed feelings on this! I really like the drum pattern in the intro, really gets things going, but im not feeling that 'groin' sample
think you should replace with a reggae sample of some sort, would work just aswell, i just dont like the sound of his voice. I DO like the way it slows down and speeds up and the tapes down and then you have the kids voice sample, that bit works really well. After it goes into the wobble think you should saturate that snare and make the bassdrum heavier to give them both more punch. But the rest i like.

Re: PUT YOUR WORKS-IN-PROGRESS HERE FOR FEEDBACK.
Ok now heres something i've had in progress for the past week or so (not working on it full time, like half an hour a day). This is both my first ever dubstep track and also the first track i have ever made. And yes im being honest when i say this is my first track ever, i don't make music, i don't study it at college or intend to produce it for a living in the future. Im just a graphics student who likes dubstep and decided to attempt to produce a mixture of prodigy big beat and reso's robotic futurstep
This is a snippet of the 3rd version. Every time ive posted ive got no feedback whatsoever even though i have given some, so please would love to hear some opinions and most importantly criticism!
TURN UP THE VOLUME! its completely unmastered and the volumes are very low as i didnt want to crush the sound yet and cut off frequencies, better to have some dynamic range!

hey bruv. shameless self promotion aside, its pretty cool. the beat could be way louder and for someone who has never made "dubstep" before, its good. the structure is nice. its not really my style, that crazy all over the place lfo. but, keep up the good work!!edgar_pr wrote:Ok now heres something i've had in progress for the past week or so (not working on it full time, like half an hour a day). Re: PUT YOUR WORKS-IN-PROGRESS HERE FOR FEEDBACK.
(in the beginning) this is cool dude! i like your drums alot, but i would def change that snare. maybe layer it up with a snare and a clap?
and to be honest, after the first 0:57, the whole thing is lost. that sample is madddd annoying and what could have been a golden beat just goes nowhere.
but you have great structure. big up!

Thanks for the feedback guys! I'm gonna take some of this into consideration and repost whenever I get a chance to fix it up a bit. Just because of the aim of the song I'm gonna keep the dumb samples in this time, but I'll try fixing up the end.

sample is not dumb. and dont change your song just becuse a few people dont agree with it. there was just one point after 56 secs where i wanted to throw my headphones away because it got too loud. youre doing great bruv. keep it up.

I'm down for a collab but a) this isn't the place to post that and b) no one is going to collab with you if they've never heard your music before. post a tune!ryanhurleyproducer wrote:IF ANY1 THAT USES FRUITY IS INTERESTED IN DOING A COLLAB PRIVATE MESSAGE ME
