Trains from Notts get into King's Cross St Pancras, which is two stations right next to each other and both join up to a single Tube station. You'll want to catch the trains that go to St Pancras as those are direct trains. From the Tube station, it's Victoria Line (light blue) direct to Brixton. Pretty much everyone coming in from the north will be arriving at King's Cross so can probably arrange to meet up with someone or other to head down to DMZ together (as I said earlier I'm gonna try to make it in for 6.30pm). Or if Badger and George are heading down earlier to stay at ch3's then they'll be passing by King's Cross to get to Brixton anywho. The possibilities are endless!!!!!DZA wrote:How long everyone gonna be staying in london for and whats the main station in london called
DMZ's on Friday, so won't be any engineering works to worry about. Saturday morning might be another matter, but there's loads of buses going through Brixton. Badge and George managed to find their way back to ch3's place last time they were down so it shouldn't be too bad.
I will put my new sales & marketing cap on to think about how to promote the show. But my experience is probably quite useless in this area
Although, one thought is that there are loads of people who DJ on here, some more well known than others. It would be good to get a good mix of people playing. Those who've been doing it for a while will have a following of sorts and will bring those to the show. While those who haven't as much experience can use it as a chance to learn firsthand. So, and this is just me thinking as I'm typing, if we could keep the mix of people playing fairly diverse as well as open to a bit more experimentation with mixing techniques and maybe even live sound improvisations of some sort (frebentos' play around with motors and stuff a while back springs to mind), you can keep the show pretty interesting with a vague-and-not-so-clearly-defined-theme going on. Or you could also showcase some of the talented unsigned producers on here like DZA who might not be able to mix (can you???) but have good stuff to contribute as well. You could have a London week, a Leeds week, a Bristol week, a Brighton week, etc, each hosted by someone in those areas (eg frebentos in London, george in leeds) who'd play out with a few people, and then the big monthly show occasionally in an area which doesn't have a regular show.
And then WE TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!!!!
