Need some feedback on a track I was working on last night.
Just finished the main arrangement last night.
Still have a lot of automation to add as well as some drum fills and variations.

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not a fan of those insanely high metallic notes at the beginning.
As it's a WIP i realised you probably haven't mixed it yet but the sections with that bass are WAAAY louder than the rest of the song, which will need to be fixed at some point.

Try the bass down an octave as well, or at least EQing it so the lower perts are more prominent.

Looking promising though, i especially like the slowed down breakbeat.

Soundcloud
This is VERY unfinished- i've just switched to using ableton live and this track is just a product of me trying to get used to the workflow, that said, critique and tips on where to take it now would be much appreciated.

So for my first attempt at making a song I decided to make a dub of a Blue Oyster Cult song that's a personal favorite of mine. I didn't even know if it was plausible at the beginning but after a little work I'm starting to like where it's going. Give it a listen and tell me what you like and more importantly where you think I'm fucking it all up. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

My First track made using Sony Acid Pro free samples and normal home stereo speakers, I going to buy some active monitors as soon as I can.
I’m still a noob so don’t be too harsh on me lol

For a first track it sounds really good man. i would clean up the mastering on the vocals and drop the reverb a little bit but thats just me. Overall great work for a starting producer, sounds nice and pro ( i need to check out sony acid pro)

keep it up man!

Ok this is a track i started at like 2am last night, i know it needs a lot of work still, im gonna completely redo the percussion with a heavier snare and maybe take a little delay off some of the hats but any advice welcomed!

from about 1:30 this gets very busy, there's too much going on at once for any individual part to sound that great. Maybe re-think having both the vocal sample and that higher synth melody happening at once, especially as they are quite different rhythmically.

With the wobble, i'd really work on making it "gel" with the drums you're laying down (and here i think your idea of a stronger snare is a good one. At the moment they sound like two elements that just happen to be part of the same song, which while it isn't unpleasant, doesn't grab you as much as something where you've really carefully co-ordinated the interaction between the drumbeat and the bass.

Intro is naiice though, the Hihat that sets the rhythm works really well, though could possibly use a touch less reverb.

Look up a few posts if anyone feels like feeding back.

word, thanks for the input. i was worried that it was too busy, figured i could EQ it to sound clearer but when i get back to the studio ill def play around with cutting some aspects out and leaving others

thanks for the input man

Not bad for 2/3 hour tune? or however long you spent on it. Definitely needs some better percussion, with more "shuffle" to it. All to often (and im guilty of this as well) people have the tendency to make the percussion similar to a hip hop song, which isnt bad if the other elements keep the "shuffley" feel to it, but remember dubstep is very much sample based (samples from drum n bass most often) so the percussion must be very fast, especially on a track such as this. Definitely work on fattening up the bass, making it more liquid and some EQ work should have you sitting right. The structure is nice, and the overall flow is a good starting point, i cant wait to hear the end result! bigups.

A new track im working on, some nice melodic synths, then goes into bassy drop with some nice background fx, got a kinda joker feel. think need a bit of work on the drums though, feedback appreciated!

Really like the synths and sounds used in this. Like you said I feel the drums need some tweaking. Personally I'm not to keen on the hi hat sound and I would add some nice reverb to the snare to make it sound fatter.
