CITY BASS wants to be a meeting point for the rampantly emerging uk bass scene: Dubstep, Garage & UKFunky, and deep pumping House and Techno, but we also want it to be a meeting place for Cardiff's party people , those who are lovin the state electronic music + those who love to dance!
BARFLY is a wicked underground bar thats now opened its doors to dance music, the staff are friendly, the drinks are cheap, there's crazy lazers/lights + most importantly the system they've recently installed is BOOMING!!!
ALEXANDER NUT - a proper selector. Probably most famous for his huge 'Rinse 08' mix cd out last year for Rinse.fm. You can catch his show every saturday from 1pm to 3pm where he'll be rinsing everything from deep house to dubstep & new school hip hop thru to old skool 'ardcore.
Alex also runs Eglo records, which has recently put out some incredible records, notably floating points last couple.
Anyone who caught his set in the superbly curated second room of hospitality will tell you, he rinsed it...
MONKEY - Cardiff legend, been around since day one making hip hop with stagga as optimus prime. last year was a big one for monkey's tunes with releases on pesky plates, heavy artillary and his own sonic lodge label.. expect deep percussive future bass
DVRSFY - anyone who has seen ben's huge + immaculate vinyl collection would no doubt agree he's deep into the game! one of cardiff's heavyiest selcta's, will no doubt come with a sick set that'll rip thru uk funky, garage, techno & possibly more
JOE PEARSON - another cardiff head who knows about proper records. his skills + his love for house and techno have seen him get recent plays for the mighty Cool House, enough said!
CAVEMAN + CHICO - in charge of mic duties for the night are two time served cardiff mc's who need no hype, they know the music inside out.
