I wanted to bring somethin new to the party, but yeah it's all kinda ruff+ready til i get my hardware fixed. Thanx again to knell for the percussion box, can't get enuff of it :t:

Wow, you definitely did bring something new, really like the chilled vibe with that almost sarcastic wobbly synth lead. Really, really original stuff. Nice drums and all ^^.

The only thing i'd like to be different is unfortunately quite big. after your drop, at around 3:10 the track gets much, much busier. You lose the lovely sense of space that's the reason i really, really like the beginning of the track. I think you either need to really really agressively EQ this part or lose one element all together, everything together ends up too busy to have for more than maybe half a phrase (before the breakdown perhaps?).

Don't take this the wrong way though, I really, really like the first 3 minutes of this, probably enough to call them groundbreaking, i just got let down after that.

yo i'd lie if i said i was new at producing. i've been going on little more than 1,5 years ~ i'm still learning (gotta say it's a slow ride!! ). anyway the recent days i've been on and off producing this 'song' and i thought; hey let's upload this,

Soundcloud
some feedback and tips maybe on what i can do as far as getting better at producing but not just on this track (which i kept mad short). also tell me what you think of it!!

@continuum: yo thanx alot for honest feedback. Always take criticism as more of a compliment than blind appreciation. I feel u on that one too, when i ipod-tested the trak i ended up wanting to rewind the 1st half more than the 2nd. There's somethin so sweet about the sound of a pure 808...
And "almost sarcastic"! yeah exactly  the snare too
Think i'll act on yr advice there anyway, probly end up with 2 diffrent trax (again... it's like i keep making babies and then they start making babies... )
Peace

Liking the feel of the track, for me the drums get a little repetitive, definitely needs to switch up with the drums, possibly some more sweeps to blend changes in.
Overall though i really like the vibe and feel.

The guy i work with swears the vocal says bumming :D

first of all thanks for the soundcloud comment, was kind of you and i really appreciate it.

about the track, the ideas really good, the combo of classical choir + dubstep, but the drama and intensity of the sample isnt matched by whats around it, particularly the main synth, which i think needs abit more time, have it covering wider frequencies, and try varying the LFO speed to add drama. the drums are solid, maybe lacking a big hi hat. but overall the ideas really good and your samplings just as good.

this really is a beautiful track. great use of the vocal sample, and I really like that it retains a sense of space throughout. I agree with the previous commentator that it gets a little too busy after the drop, but it's not that big of an issue for me. overall, I just find it a very pleasant track.

now reposting my own track, because the embed didn't work before:

If anyone could offer feedback or my track that would be cool as im new to all this malarky! cheers:

this is why i like this forum, get some absolute killers! from the re;axed to the dirty. good work man, liked the track overall. Is that the sample from halflife btw? maybe in the part from 2:53 where that different synth sound comes in make more use of that for some variance? just an idea. the kicks and sub go really nicely though. Good stuff!

Iv just started doin some dubstep. any feedback would be awesome. cheers :

hey,
thanks so much for the feedback! glad you like it. I'm actually very new to producing dubstep, my other tracks are related but don't really fall into any specific genres. check them out at www.reverbnation.com/simonherzog if you like!

your track is great. my favorite parts are the little bell accents and the strings. I'm about to listen to some of your other stuff too!
