USB Interface...

Post by Basic A » Tue Feb 23, 2010 12:33 am

So, I have to give back the interface Ive been borrowing for a good six months, and its one of those times when you realize how much you depended on a borrowed pece of gear, and how permanent they can seem... Yeah... Kinda depressed, dont wanna see it leave, haha...

But, Im lookin at one of these:

http://www.zzounds.com/item--MDOFTRACKPRO >>> M-Audio interface

To sit in where it was... All I need it for is to handle input/output (input of CDJs for effecting, output of that signal to final monitoring)... And the occasional midi functionality when someone brings controllers around...

Has anyone ever used one of these? Are they stable? And hows the sound quality coming out (Id prefer it be to par with a large system, I mean, this is Dubstep, haha...)

Im a bit confused, when it says it has 4 RCA outs... does it mean 4 RCA outs when operating in mono i take it? Cause I only count two L/R combos, but, if you set it too mono out, that equals four with the distributed power spread out further, right?

Really just hoping to see if anyones used em and thier quality though... N if youve got something you think is more stable for the price range, lemme know too... Audio interface, something Im gonna shop around on, need quality in it...

it's decent. i'd go for it if that's what you can afford. there's so many USB interfaces it's really about who makes the better drivers in that price range. m-audio gear has been pretty solid for me. i use the firewire version called the profire 610. On the FastTrack Pro it's a stereo pair on the out puts which means to get it mono just don't pan on those outputs. they created those outputsfor people who want to use that as a DJ soundcard for programs like Traktor. it still has a set of mono 1/4 outputs you can send to a sound system via DI boxes so it's a good buy.

I just picked up an NI audio kontrol and digging it so far, and it comes with a coupon to download a free NI synth like massive, absynth, or fm8...way cool.

They also offer an audio4 or 8 for more dj specific stuff. But i dont believe those come with the free synth.

The 8 does, but, another hundred bucks is a pipe dream for the time being, and I REALLY need something thatll sit in, Im lost without an interface ebtween my CDJs and my PC... I just sent the 8 back to its rightful owner though...
