I use a mac and the places i've been to (on the net) to buy ram have functions where you can give the info about what mac you have and it will then tell you what ram is appropriate and how much you can put in the machine. It's really easy. I would imagine there is something like this for pc's but, not using one i can't be sure...I'll have a scout around for you and if i find a place like this for pc's i'll leave the link....

cheers mbp i'll check em out now
foamo, its all good bro never had any probs with ableton. its just when i'm runnin kontakt and a few minimonstas and about twenty waves efx plugins that the stutter takes over. basically i'm a greedy bugger and i hate bouncing stuff cos once i do i always want to change that part. think the spec you mention is identical to mine.
want to able to use massive too

there are many types and putting the wrong one in could screw up you new purchase and maybe the computer.narcossist wrote:i guess theres a few different types so do i need to find out what type n get the same
to be on the safe side I would contact dell and ask them, or a friend who knows something about computers.
Actually if you go through the support section of the dell webste there is a memory selection section. that will at least give you the specs of the stuff u need
