Both of those Guardian pieces tell you enough about what he's about for you to investigate for yourself - it's not the media's job to spoonfed you information about stuff that most people think is untrue. They tell you it exists - you do the rest.

I've seen David Icke speak in Brixton actually... I'm fairly sure my economics teacher told me about him, but it could've been an older brother or friend at school.

He's a rite of passage for "interested" teenagers. Because he's so convincing on the economic side of things, it's tempting to buy into the whole dogma.

Err, no, I didn't say that. I said that coverage could get people interested. I've known about him since I was about 17 or 18, I guess. My point was he's not "hidden away". Anyone with a curious brain will get to know about him.

Those articles were the result of a Google to show you that he does get mainstream coverage. Hell, there's often a billboard advertising his shows in Brixton.

Well, the media does a good enough job so that just about everyone I know that has an interest in politics and "the way things work" has heard of Icke and knows all about his reptillian ideas. How many times have you got annoyed around here with people bringing up reptillians in your threads? The story's everywhere!

We heard about it years ago. This is old news, Pimp... it deserves as much coverage in the media as it gets. People know who Icke is and, after learning some nice things about economics from him, they reject him as a phony on the reptillian stuff.

People will always look for mysticism. They love it. Christians, Scientologists, Muslims, Sikhs, people that believe in Reptillians, 7th Day Evangelists... they're all slaves to other people's wisdom.

Proof allows you to make your own mind up - if you don't require it to form beliefs, then you're a mere sheep. It's nothing "bad", but it's certainly nothing to be showing off about.

He's easy enough to find out about; millions of people have and will continue to find out about him. It's not the media's job to spoonfeed you every bit of information - sometimes you've got to put some effort in.

People who are likely to be interested in Icke are more than willing to put the effort in. I certainly was when I was a teenager. With the internet, this is easier than ever.

I'm pretty suspicious of Icke, to me his views seem be furthering the notion that the ruling elite are from some special, untouchable highly advanced bloodline and In doing so he is propagating subservience to a superior ruling class under the auspices of enlightenment.

It's a good way of capturing the audience of people that have refused to swallow the mainstream medicine.

All about moderation when used for exploring yourself. I've found through experience that you can become so focused on a single train of thought that critical thinking goes out of the window. Definitely need cooling off periods to re evaluate what you've discovered.
