Full-Moon party - Ko Pha Ngan, Thailand

Post by jimmyruss1985 » Wed Jan 24, 2007 5:13 pm

From what I've read it's a massive rave on a beach (best spot is Ko Pha Ngan - where I'm headed) so figured theres a chance Dubstep might feature somewhere. Any info?

Also, anyone ever had any experience of this? I'll be there June 1st for informational purposes.

mostly psytrance from what i've heard...i know that area has a reputation for having a lot going on, so there may be other types of music as well...

I know a few cats that've been out and that's the reverb I get from it as well. They all had a hell of a time. But this was from cats that are not very knowledgable (or care to be for any matter) when it comes to music, sooo....

That and.... It's Thailand

I wanna go pretty bad. I have a friend who said she'd get me in touch with people behind the events to play. If I go out there, I'm all about droppin some dubstep hahaha

I went to one of them a few years ago. Mainly psytrance, but also DnB, techno etc. Pretty good, just make sure you watch out for the cops and don't leave anything valuable in your room - everyone gets ripped off on full moon party night.

Cheers guys...drum syndicate, get it organised. Sure it can't be too hard to get a set arranged? Goes on once a month so I'd have thought someone could give you some time. Just try and make it June 1st yeah? lol

I know a lot of it's psytrance etc, get some rnb etc too but mostly the former. I was just gunning for some dubstep. I keep daydreaming at work of being on the beach and someone dropping Cays Crays remix by Digital Mystikz. I swear, if that happens, I will be the happiest person on earth!

I don't know if my vacation time will allow me to take that off since I'm hoping to use most of it for WMC. Pray the tax returns get sorted quick!

Fair, well I'm just praying some who dj's dubstep gets out there when I'm there! Sounds like a lot of the bars do their own thing music wise so fingers crossed. DnB gets played so theres some potential I reckon.

Ya for sure. There's different parties on different islands too I do believe. I really need a vacation away from everything, so that sounds like a pretty nice idea haha

I shall see you there then ;).

www.travelfish.org is an excellent site for Thailand, Cambodia etc advice. Unbiased and informative. Combined with Wikitravel you can't go wrong really. Just incase you decide a vacation out that way is a wise choice, which it is haha.
