hey, i'm sorry for jumping on the "give feedback and expect ir right back" train, but I'm trying to throw down a finalized version of this track tonight...so any feedback would helpful.
beware, it's not dubstep by any means...i'm specifically concerned with three harmonizing voices in the piece--the voices don't sound too interesting, so maybe y'all could give some suggestions. might just try to come up with some voices on da moog.

good to hear it resembles Sega in some form...most of the stuff i've done until fairly recently has been bitpop and such. it will probably sound worse through monitors actually, it should be listened to through headphones for best effect (it's just a rough cut of the song, hence the cloudiness...hasn't been mixed at all, 'cept the levels on my sequencer). efx are a must, got to whip out my game boy camera and the trusty Trippy-H.

i know i should be ashamed for not knowing the wu...but i'm not heavy into hiphop, and to be fair, I only go to school in new york. i am sortof a youngin too...19.

Never-the-less I'll take that as a complimenting comment with regards to the fact that pop music is produced to a high standard.

I love the vocal on go to sleep the track sounds really good.

as for the others i like sharon but found my self wanting it to go on for a little longer and then maybe bring in another bass sound maybe something a little thicker, but other than that i like what you've done.

I like how you keep that bass moving and changing stops it getting to repetative, i just wish it had a deeper sub on it but i am listening to it on headphones so maybe its them.

hey, dug all of your tracks, you really have that creepy-chill groove down. your samples are well chosen and are worked well into the off-kilter flow you have going with most of your beats. especially liked the samples in sharon. i'd say take me seriously was my favorite of the bunch...the theremin-esque sound was phaaaat.

advice: work on your beats a little--not that one beat doesnt work through the whole track, but having different drum textures come in would provide some nice contrast. also try panning or pan-echoing some of your samples...extra creepy.

I definitely spent more time trying to craft 'take me seriously' into more of a proper-format tune, as you noticed.

I completely agree with you about the beats. In fact, this is what I most appreciate about tracks (I'm into el-b, paradox, burial, gurley, horsepower, etc. all drum masters). Now that I can lay down a decent beat I really need to work on how to create those subtle variances that make the drums much more interesting. Thanks

I used to pan much more actually, especially a reverb soaked pan run through a lp filter as you might imagine by my tunes. I will listen to these again, I'm not sure why I stopped utilizing the pan...

In fact the vocal from 'go to sleep' is my friend who sings mostly crooner-type songs, which I sampled and processed of course. He will be gratified, I'm sure.

I understand what you mean in terms of the song length and variety. This is essentially the same issue as discussed with KidQw3rty, except in that case it was the drum beat. I realize I need to put in much more work, but I find that i like to bang out a concept but don't have the patience or interest to completely polish it, you know? Terrible attitude, really

I completely, absolutely agree about having a 'thicker' bass in 'sharon' (and some of my others), I need some better sub-crafting techniques. Time to check the bible...

I really am just trying to see if people were feelin' my vibe/style, and how to generally improve. I know it's all about time and dedication so I hope I will be able to come up with good concepts and follow them through as I become more experienced.

Would really like some feedback on these there are a couple of new ones on there as well.

I listened to "outta skin".
Not bad, nice downtempo feel you have going. I think you could use some fairly clean subbass in it, listen to phaeleh if you haven't already, that's the kind of bass you want to be going for imo, pretty much just sine waves, nothing too over the top.

Your kick could do with being quite a lot more subby too, and sounds like it's got a tiny bit of reverb on it, which i don't like. if it hasn't, tweak the envelopes so the decay is nice and short and there's pretty much no sustain, you really want it just to punch and then be gone with this sort of minimal style.

One last thing, have another go at the drum pattern of the first drop, didn't feel it.

There's potential here, don't be disheartened by my mostly negative crit, i promise it's to help you get better, not because i think it's a bad tune.

Well, I've just had a quick listen to your tracks whilst I had a moment. Glad I did, I'm especially feeling 'Ressus' and 'Cola'.

Cola is my favourite, actually. The melody really works well with the percussion to keep it rolling. Choice track.

I preferred the latter half of 'Alleti' to the first; different flow. The former reminds me more of latin-style percussion which i don't prefer (even though el-b loves it ).

Needless to say i prefer darker and colder fare, but you have made some well-produced tracks here that work. What DAW do you use, may I ask?

I'm at work now (with cheap speakers or course) I'll give 'em another listen tonight and post something more useful i hope.

I really like the track you have posted up here. Loving the moving sine bass and creepy organ thing if thats what it is supposed to be. Just a wee bit of variation on the rhythm is the only constructive criticism I could give. It sounds well produced to my ears too. Great track

That's some really nice original stuff there.

On soundboy, you have a bit of work to do making the bass gel nicely with the rest of the tune. Most of the time it's fine, but a couple of times for a couple of notes it sounds a bit out of place. Best way for you to assess this is not to listen to it for a few days, cause you're used to how it sounds, then go back in and listen with a really critical eye, does everything fit as nicely as you want it to? (this is a good idea anyway, but i think it's especially nice in this case).

On africa dub, i think you need to be a bit more gentle brining in the heavy bass again, though overall you have made it fit.

Like the concept a lot, with a bit of refinement this could be big

@ Alien delegate. You really want to watch the levels of those highs. People are going to be in a LOT of pain if that's played on a big system. Not nice.
The concept of that voice intro is fairly good, but get someone with a deeper voice to record it, atm it sounds like a 14 year old reading a script.

Thanks man! That's some proper and useful feedback. I'm ready to admit that many of my tracks are not quite finished. It's the damned peer pressure that makes me put them online too quickly.

As promised, here's something back:

I listened to the WIP that you have in your signature. And I must say the wibe is good, but as you surely know, it feels too empty at the moment. I also think it lacks somekind of "swing" or "rhythm" (Maybe not the best words to use here, but you get the idea. My english isn't that good.) I personally would give it some echoing percussions.

Anyway, I like it and would love to hear the final version. Big ups!
