I was at the Melbourne gig, flew down from Sydney.
Crowd loved it. Place was rammed, people going mental.
I wasn't overly impressed with 16Bit's set, just played alot of their released stuff and some UK dancefloor bits, crowd seemed to like it though.
Fair play to them though, they had the place going off and alot of energy up there.
Not to say I didn't have good time, was a great party.
Droid Sector blew them out of the water TBH

NZ is good, Australia is good, pointless national rivalry is pointless

cpt.pollution wrote:To the aucklanders thinking your scene is better than chch's nice try ;). Yeah you may have more people that are into it, your city is triple the size of chch, but you won't have the animalistic nature of chch. 16bit played 2 sets in the 1 night thats how much they appreciate us :>

And it was fooking sick
I said biggest, not best. I don't doubt there are more true heads down there than we have up here, doesn't make us any less worthy of having them play in our city though... If I could afford to fly down to chch every time an international plays down there I would. But unfortunately I am poor, so have to put up with the mostly shitty crowds we get these days in Auckland. But I put up with it because I love the music.

Bring back the days when there were ~100 people going absolutely nuts at the gigs, as opposed to having venues filled past capacity due to homophobe. making fake tickets, filled with retards from private schools who just go so they can take a shit load of drugs and get down to some Rusko.

wow!...
Im almost speechless

So heres my take on all this..
yup 16 bit didnt play? oh well ? they had their reasons and its pointless peeps talking about it...
Its also a lil pointless and dare I say desperate to post a thread like this on a public forum...
whats even more pointless is the blah blah about whose scene (ahem, cock) is bigger or better...
I have been to melbs , =dope , chch = dope and ak = dope, yup they are all completely different and all have some issues , but really? who cares.. its all about the music innit?...It saddens me that things like this happen , I have seen it in dnb , trance ,psy techno, gabba, and NOW im seeing it in dubstep...
I just dont understand where it comes from? like all the "my scene is better than yours ," bullshit... maybe theres too much money involved and too many promoters all hustling for the same peice of pie? but what ever it is , it just makes the whole ting smell,

forget the name calling and testerone laiden bull shit.. remember this is the internets... and remember that fundamentally we all love the same stuff. It weakens its (dubsteps/the genres) cultural viability when all crews start scrapping.. fuck that turn your angst against the system.. use the music as what it is designed for , a vehicle to open the minds of the youth to see their way out of the "Babylonian Context" we are born into

First post , nuff sed... as ye whurr

You obviously haven't been to an Auckland gig, if you had you'd know what I mean. 16 year olds grinding their faces off at the front, who don't know a thing about dubstep, just wanting a place to take their 5 pills without their parents finding out.

And loool? What are you a 12 year old girl?

Quite the opposite really, was into the music before the drugs.

But anyway 16 bit have gapped it back to the UK already so this thread is redundant really

But Aussie is a different story hahah, do you guys get shufflers at your melbourne dubstep gigs lol?

Your the only ones that make sheep jokes so I don't see how that would happen? At least drop something with a bit more relevance than a sheep being at a gig
