The best wobble Producers...

Post by Pistonsbeneath » Tue Mar 02, 2010 2:07 pm

i don't have a problem with any style of music at all and when dubstep first really kicked into gear in late 05-early 06 it wasnt in any sense a dirty word...

Tons of music from that time remains very special to me that used lots of wobbles...

now however it's easy to put everything in a box and assume all modern wobble is dumb, pointless, regurgitating, generic etc etc etc

i'm sure that's not the case so i've made this thread for myself as much as to make a thread for this rare modern phenomenon that uses wobbles to great effect without stepping into the brostep arena....

most of the better producers that used to use wobbles now don't and make music for the far more reliable although not without it's rubbish as well deeper style...

people that i have heard over the last year that primarily make wobble that i like are..

Bar 9
Reso
Goth Trad
Marlow

i'm sure there are more than that that i enjoy but people who know what i mean please list some people i should listen to! :D

Jakes and pretty much any Hench release that adopts this style.
Emalkay, like pretty much all of his releases.
Skream's 'tear out' tunes, Raw Dogz, Meta-Lick, What Did He Say? etc...

As Pistonbeneath said though, there are loads more :)

ID uses the proper bassy wobble well, check the b side of his Passenger release. I think the king of wobble has to be Goth trad:

but skream has had some proper classic wobblers, blipstream, dark side of life, stagger, sandsnake

dont really class this as wobble? I dont really know what to call it? I always think of wobble as a much warmer sound, and smooth. most of the list above is the opposite to that?

Cotti still makes a good wobbler.
And we hand it back over to the fat guy with the mash.

Ah fair enough. Coki's still coming out with huge wobbles. Tree Trunk and Animal are massive tunes.

Bar 9 has sort of mixed up his sound lately. His Wobbles are way bigger sounding than before.

hate to be pedantic but Bar 9 is two guys :?

but back to the topic - stagga uses some pretty sweet wobbles, but if you want really wobbly stuff i guess you should look no further than jakwob.

i don't like it but some people are loving it and there's enough hate in the world.
..you will know your responsibility..
