Re: Just getting started in dubstep
"Add my dubstep to it." I like that. Sorry I have nothing more constructive to say.

Re: Just getting started in dubstep
Okay, look man, Im gonna lay this out flat for you mr. orginal poster...
Your very new too this and its clear too me you dont really know what your asking. My advice to you would be too start by thoroughly googling the words 'dj' and 'producer' and learning the very clearcut lines which seperate these two arts.
Once you understand the difference here, my next suggestion would be that you download the FLStudio demo version. It is free, and therefore limited in features, but it has EVERYTHING you need to begin to learn the theories and techniques behind production. This is going to occupy a HUGE portion of your time, and it will be a VERY long time before you can fluently translate the music you imagine in your head into a tangible song.
Then, I would suggest you open too copies of windows media player, and use the play buttons and volume sliders too learn some rudimentary DJ theory. This may sound crazy and redundant, but Ive taught two people how too mix, and both times, this is how I had them start, long before letting them near my CDJs. From here, you can move on eventually to VDJ or mix, and ultimately to Vinyl or CD.
But, I cant recommend you run out and by a bunch of equipment. It would seem pretty evident that if you cant even DEFINE the word DJ, you surely wont be able to successfully operate a set of decks and a mixer. And if you cant even DEFINE producer, youll be clueless as too what too do with a midikeyboard.
The fact is, youll need no hardware to start learning, rather, your going to have to be prepared spending at least a year reading, studying, and operating on software too learn the basics.
Im having a hard time giving you adive outside of that, as it is clear, like I said, you dont understand much at all about the process of electronic music creation. It is admirrable that you have found a subject which you think may interest you and have begun to pursue it. But its clear your far too excited to start playing with gear and far too hesitant to begin the studying and software process we all must go through.
