But for me like example
sending out demo's is like sending a job application (resume,c.v) for a job
i can't just sit there and wait until someone offer me a job i need to go look for it
so it the same with sending out demo's..

I say keep making a track a day for the next three years. That's a 1000 tracks under your belt. You're bound to learn something unique through that process. I had a painting teach who would say your first 10,000 painting are shit, so might as well get through them as quickly as possible.

im far more concerned with trying to achieve the standard of production ive been striving towards for this long

Edit - thierry, ive noticed you post atleast one new track every day in dubs. maybe you should spend a bit longer trying to perfect a new project rather that bang them out as quick as poss. do like your tracks though, keep at it man
i couldnt agree with you more!

yes and no. Was thinking about this and any tune i've signed has been to a label that contacted (the old industry term is "solicited") me directly. Now that doesn't mean that i was just sitting around, filling up a harddrive with tunes-- you've got to actively find folks who are receptive to your work, and then get your material out to them. Club DJ's, internet radio DJ's, radio DJ's, bloggers, podcasters, journalists, DSF forum members who seem to have similar tastes, etc.

do that and then, yes-- labels will reach out to you.

now with that said, plenty of artists have been signed just on the merits of unsolicited material. what this means is that you gotta write really good music!

I've had a record put out by just sending a demo, but that is certainly not the norm. Nothing beats developing a personal relationship with industry people and building from there.
