I AM A LASER, together with The Service Company (Destroy LA), is LIVE on March 11th with the fifth monthly “Night of Future Culture” held at Club Nokia Mezzanine Bar in downtown Los Angeles! This music-driven showcase happens every second Thursday of the month in conjunction with the Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk event and merges several West Coast music scenes into one experience seamlessly, creating a unified culture of cutting-edge sound, vision, and style.
This month RUCKAZOID brings his future-soul sound to I AM A LASER along with Diamond Zoidal on the vocals. Ruckazoid's heavy production and performance talents will be showcased on his unique set up of six analog synthesizers, a drum machine and turntables that he invented, the Vestax Controller One Turntable which allows you to play musical notes on vinyl records. His ability to flex on many genres of music makes him a master of future sound, and whether he is putting down Old School beats or nasty pop tracks or funky dance club bangers, the artistry evident in his style and production quality will delight your ears.
It doesn't stop there- Teebs of of the My Hollow Drum crew and the Brainfeeder clan brings his brand of beat music to the masses along with newcomer St Andrew, whose beats will win you over with a few moments- check out the tracks on his Myspace page.
L.Croskey rounds out this solid lineup and don't forget about the live artists we are bringing in: Steven Lopez, John Park (one of the amazing muralists at Lucent L'amour) and Rhadika Hersey from Temple of Visions. You can see Curious Josh's photos from last month's show here, and check out IAMALASER.com, the online magazine which regularly features exclusive new music, fresh videos and artist interviews.
