really? dexcell lives (well 2 3rds. although dave used to till he moved to southampton) down the road from me man, me and culprate pretty much taught them (well, dave and sammy) to make tunes. really wouldnt say they really approach the hardest end of d&b other than a couple of little forays here and there. you should check current value if you want hard shit, or perhaps some old twisted anger stuff (breakage vol. 1 lp). it might make you lose control of your bowels.

btw, dexcell are good, although they are best at liquidy stuff imo. the amount of tunes dave manages to make is fucking mental.

lol for giving them all our life story... im quite sure there not interested lol

An old favourite...

He danced for eighteen hours staring straight into the sun, until at length a great vision came... He believed the world was made of shadow and that he could dream himself into the real world that lay beyond...

get old school
the deathchant sound - hardcore / gabba / d&b breaks / breakcore / hiphop

the tune that got rewound a billion times.

hellfish - headbanger.
brutally hard

Hi, can someone help me out regarding dNb subgenre's etc...?
My friend made this one, and I put it in the 'dubs' section but no one could put a specific genre on it. Usually he makes pure dNb but tried his hand at this...what is it?! I think it's SOME form of dNb lol..?

I don't, but it is actually the next step in going a bit harder and faster when you're into dnb.
I got into breakcore buying a mixtape by Belgium-based dj Meche.
a-side was a mix with loads of renegade hardware/triad/dom & roland/.. stuff.
b-side starts with dj scud and goes into junglecore, hardcore with breakbeats, sped up dnb,...

he put it online a few years ago as the tape was circa 2000 bussiness.
I'll see if I can post a link.

but other than that, there's plenty of breakcore with a clear link towards dnb

don't think breakcore and darkstep are the same
breakcore come from gabber/hardcore techno whereas darkstep is the industrial/metal/dark part of drum'n'bass
Breakcore is most fo the time lofi and punkish
Darkstep is clean but dirty like neurofunk
