and now for something COMPLETELY different...

Post by hate recordings » Mon Jan 22, 2007 10:02 pm

Avant-garde turntablist coming through...

I've decided to start a series of mixes for those who strive for something a lil different. Part hiphop, part jazz, part rock, part electronic, part alot of things. Not sure what it is exactly, but it's currently on Rotation @ PMX Radio (http://pmx.jble.com/).

Wild stuff. Here's the mix:

And here's the tracklisting:

dj cam - experience (00:30)
weather report - non-stop home (02:19)
yes - five per cent for nothing (06:04)
grover washington jr - mr magic (06:37)
cheech & chong - waiting for dave (07:49)
cannibal ox - the f word instrumental (rjd2 remix) (10:19)
heatwave - star of the story (12:04)
main ingredient - summer breeze (13:53)

the mothers of invention - motherly love (23:43)
weather report - milky way (26:25)

Keep an open mind and enjoy!

This is a quality mix, it's nice to hear something a bit different. The main reason I listened to this is because I hadn't heard the cannibal ox remix before and 'the cold vein' is one of my favourite hip hop albums, but there's other good tracks in here as well. My favourite ones are 'summer breeze' and 'popcorn' :D 8) :D

Thank you so much! The whole thing mix was impulsive really. I thought it'd be neat to record a wild ass mix as soon as I woke up to send it to a friend who likes weird mixes at work. Just pulled records out at random and went "yes, no, no, yes, no".

cold vein is a monster and without any sort of question one of the most influencial hiphop albums ive ever had the privilage to experience.
