Rinse Presents Roska - April 5th

Post by uptown records » Wed Mar 10, 2010 12:36 pm

With a slew of infectious releases on his own imprint Kicks & Snares and a seemingly never ending list of remixes at the request of artists including Zed Bias and Four Tet the hype on Roska leading up to this album is written on the proverbial wall across radio, in the clubs and on blogsites. Aside from Geeneus' 'One' LP in late 2008, UK Funky hasn't really produced any notable artist albums of yet. This selftitled debut LP is a collection of ten of his currently most ubiquitous productions including ‘I Need Lov,e and the Jamie George collaboration ‘Wonderful Day' and 'Time Out' (as hammered by Brackles on his Rinse sets). Undoubtedly there’s a charm in the restraint that Roska affords his production which has seen him adopted by the funky scene as one of their most cherished children. However, welcome as he may be Roska’s more curious than his counterparts to stay outside of the constraints of the genre.

Looking forward to this, big up Roska.

Is Squark going to get a vinyl release? Don't see why Love 2nite is on the sampler when it's already been released.

'Love 2 Nite' is bigggg. I can't get enough of that one.

I'm looking forward to the album + 'Squark', just like everyone else.
