Easier LFO automation in Reaper?

Post by iambullet » Wed Mar 10, 2010 1:33 pm

I've been googling a bit but couldn't come up with something useful, so here goes:

Is it possible to ease the LFO automation? It's a bit of a pain in the ass to map the 39 LFO sync settings of Albino to the 0..1 range that Reaper offers (although I think all DAWs do it this way). Is it possible to choose the sync like 1/8T directly or at least some cheatsheet with values + sync setting?

Try doing two things;

1> Resize the automation lane by dragging its bottom edge so you can be more precise with your edits.

2> In the Preferences dialogue (Ctrl-P or Options>Prefernces>Apearance), tick the very bottom option called 'Horizontal grid lines in automation lanes'. This will make it easier to judge where to place your automation changes.

hi,

yeah, it really kinda suck in reaper to handle huge automations.

at least you can copy n paste automation points to other lanes. that way you could make yourself some "masterautomationlanes" where you put your most used patterns and copy them quickly, if desired.
and automationpoints move with the items, when you copy or drag+ctrl them. sometimes it makes life a little easier, when you send midi to instruments with automation by another track and use the instrumenttrack to arrange the automation during the song. if you need just simple repeating automation "parameter modulation" might be worth to look at (move a knob and then hit the menu in the fx/instrument window).

hope that helps a little.

greets,

micha

I normally just create a new track and adjust the synth parameters manually.
