Is it just me or are there a lot more latecomers trying to get in after the deadline than ever before? Which is not a bad thing I guess - that people want to participate - but maybe it means the new, shorter deadlines should be reconsidered, or...?

Interesting - have you listened to much of it, then?

Also, as before I'm interested in hearing what kind of gear folks used to make their song - what DAW, hardware, plugs, etc.

To be honest I really haven't listened to much apart from a couple of high contrast albums ive got lying around somewhere.

As for gear - Logic, Battery, EXS24, PSP Vintagewarmer, standard logic effects (loads of space designer, great plugin), no hardware/controllers/monitors or anything.

That's kind of amazing and kind of makes sense at the same time. There are a lot of little transitions and treatments that you hear all the time in DnB that you've managed to re-invent on your own: as in evolutionary biology, the same thing can evolve twice and independently of each other. If anything then, I'd say maybe you should check out some "classic" DnB because I think a lot of it's gonna click with you. High Contrast is only the tip of the iceberg... I'm also a little curious about how old you are, but am afraid to ask and be made to feel like senior citizen! Heh.

No monitors, eh? Do you do the Breakage thing where you just look at a spectral analysis EQ, or...? Do you use headphones or speakers?

Oh yeah, and one more thing: BRING DSF22!

I'm 20, which makes me feel like a bit of senior citizen here sometimes frankly  I've got some akg headphones but everything I do is littered in spectral analyisers and level meters, something about how my brain work that enjoys the mathsy side of production.

Does the winner still provide the sample pack? Can I still enter the next one anyway? I love these things!
