I sometimes throw in something from the 80s or early 90s. It could be synth pop, oldskool hiphop electro or techno. Whatever it is it will be old and good:D
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

Hey, if it worked for Lady CaCa (nice lips + hooverage ability)...

OK, I've got big big news for all you dick jockeys - er, I mean, disc jockeys. :6:

There's a childrens' show called "Hey Gabba Gabba" (no, it has nothing to do with gabber) and the music's done by some ex-indie types - and guess what? The music is arguably the best I've ever heard from a kids' show - full on 808 booty bass numbers and other beaty goodness plus decent guests like Biz Markie & Jack Black...

But as I was listening to my wife play some of these for my daughter last night it occurred to me that if you slowed and/or pitched this shit down some, you could very easily drop it into a dubstep set and it'll totally work - and the vocals suddenly go from cute & cartoony to really creepy and fucked up.

Check it out:

Original- (love the break at around :50 in this...)

And then...

Slowed down and repitched -10 semitones

Slowed down, pitch intact

Original speed, repitched -10 semitones

I dare one of you knobs to do this at your next DJ gig.

:o I should've known y'all would already be hip to this shit. Did you happen to pitch it down, though? Subs get seriously ill at -10 semitones...

Think you just might be right about that, bro.

Seriously! In fact...

...you know how we keep talking about running alternative samplepack contests in the Production forum? I say we start with that break at :50 and any parts of the Mr. T video and... and... some Hungarian psychedelic rock!

Except let's call this one the Stupidpack Remix Contest. :6:
