UPDATE

ok so I borrowed my mates mbox, which didn't work with my computer because he forgot the discs but then I borrowed my mates m-audio mobilepre usb, which is just another type of external soundcard. It had its own sound drivers built for it which my multimix doesnt have, which I thought would turn out to be the problem... alas, it made absolutely no difference. However I noticed that when I turned off ReWire between FL Studio and Cubase, the project would play fine so I exported the drum track I made in FL into Cubase as an audio track and the problem is fixed. So I'm guessing the problem lies with ReWire, but I don't really know much about it other than it links the two DAWs together. Any one be able to shed some light on this? Any settings I can fiddle with to try and eliminate problem?
