At least we wouldn't get asked about wobble bass. Unless they were trying to make fidget.
HaHa VERY true! Then again I'd rather answer questions about bass than cowbells...... fair play Wub :t:

btw... to the kid up top.... youtube search the sound tutor. Your welcome. Best of luck to you sir.

Is the way to better the future not to understand the past?

You can try all you want to say that ppl who want to make YoY bass are the reason that dubstep isnt soaring like it has been. You could just as easily say its maybe just you naturaly progressing away from dubstep and theres nothing wrong w/ the music. I mean really, if your unhappy.... find something that makes you happy. I happen to like agressive dubstep and have no problem w/ this noob wanting to try his hand at it.

Also, have you wrote all your dubstep idols and asked them to think up a new idea or two? If not you have no biz telling this kid whos music youve never heard to give it up. Just my 2c.

I'm still tring to learn how to properly split frequencies, add effects and then combine into one bass again. Any insights into this would be appreciated!

Does WOW filter do everthing forma8 does? I switched to a mac and can't use forma8 now...

Do you guys mostly phase between 2 vowels or do you use all 4 that FORMA8 provides? Is 4 overkill for most applications or is it essential for more realistic sounding talking instruments?

Robo-bass ain't really my thing but if i was going to put my twist on it id get a second hand one of these:
http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/pedals_s_ ... 1414500319
run a heavy midrange bass through it and talk the automation myself, maybe record it into an old VCR on high volume for maximum haggardness then chop it up.
Probably sound like complete shit but would be fun. Could also do living on a prayer afterwards.

WOW is alright but there's only a few settings on it that will actually give you that vowler sound.. but then again. with tweaking more results might be possible.

I am on a mac as well, made a tune last week with a rough sounding talking bass sound simply because I've been reading so many threads about it... point being, I was able to make one without even using that WOW filter because I only got the demo, wasn't even totally blown away with it as a plug-in because distortions not really my thing, and the demo version doesn't bounce out for resampling. didn't end up using it for my sound

instead I used the wah-wah plug with the ringshifter. bounced down my bassline. opened that audio in a channel with a little distortion, (maybe a touch) reverb and bitcrusher. bitcrusher might be the most important part of that WAOOIII, I think. pretty nasty. RESAMPLING is key too.

the vowel sounds are something you kinda have to piddle around with

but its something you can do with the in-built logic plugs. simplez

I don't dislike formants alltogether just that repetitive, 1/8 synced up 'ya ya ya' sound, it's right in your face and not in the good way

that heyoka guy seems pretty good, I've only listened to the first tune that came up though so idk about his other stuff

IDK if its been said yet but the atlantis set, it comes with one of the most BADASS filter n distortion plugins ever (two types of formant, in regards to o.p.) and the real icing on the cake, an AMAZING free fm synth, borders on more parameters then massive.

More parameters than Massive you say? -q-

I do like the way you can use any sample as your waveform, and apply phase width modulation to those custom waveforms.... :)

funny how the same people that say they hate reading the same questions asked in the same threads over and over again, are the same people that are reading the whole damn thread and commenting on it. You know what I do when I see a question that I'm sick of reading about? I DON'T CLICK ON IT!

Face it, you need the noobs as much as they need you. It's the circle of life, lol.

If you keep trying to imitate skream, skream will always be ahead of you. Same for Datsik and Excision. If i saw the same folks asking about formant filters also asking about rhythms, about harmony, about sourcing different sounds, about any other of the gazillion ways to push things forward-- this wouldn't be an issue.

but.. i don't.

on point.

but people need to chill, like ona level, people who dont know wats happnin obviously dont look at it like you, aright you saying its been awnsered a million times so go search for the awnser cuz its already been awnsered*, but tbh most of the questions aint.. when they say wobble bass they dont mean what you know as wobble bass.. they aint just asking how do i make the bass wobble, they asking ... "wtf this guy is so sick, like how on earth does he make this, what you guys think? like the sound is so sick, i have no idea how he has done this, and where i search i cant find an awnser, its alien to me"... they aint just talking bout what its doin get me... why isit so sick... and then they told to sync there lfo and resample... k... sounds kinda ironic to me.

im not talkin to any peticular person here, just towards the general vibe.

corse, half of it is just joak anyway, pisstakin etc, but the other half aint...
