I've produced art/writing under the influence of alcohol and cannabis, but never music, and never nothing stronger. It would be an interesting experiment,

I've never taken drugs and I rarely drink, but for me I couldnt produce without a clear head and a decent mood. Mood is the biggest factor to me of what I decide sounds shit or not.

Conclusion: Im a boring bastard.

A spliff gets me in the mood x100.

I love it without, but with it I am in heaven.
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

Same. I tried once before, couldn't delete the project fast enough the next day... even getting a bit hammered at the weekend has a detrimental effect on my work until at least the middle of the following week.

For me a spliff or 2 always helps, especially when the tunes built up n complex...it helps me to pin point certain sounds n work on them easier. i dont agree with people saying drugs etc dont affect your producing or performances..Drugs stimulate the mind, the mind is the centre of control, thru my experiences with weed i find it opens up the creative side of my brain alot.

For me, having a smoke and writing some tunes is pure indulgence, I find I'm at my creative peak whilst doing this because I'm inspired, comfortable and relaxed.
I usually however save arrangement and mixdowns for when I''m sober

I do it as I go alone really. I break to make a new spliff, listen to some records and make sure my track is at the same db levels and jam!
